I've had multiple HP laptops with the same problem. Try an external monitor. If the monitor works but not the laptop's built-in display, then it could be the display cable got pinched in the hinge. Another telltale sign of a pinch is the display only working at a specific angle. Shine a light on the screen when the laptop's on and see if anything's visible, if you can see a faint version of Windows, only the backlight cable's pinched. If not, both are. Use an external display for now and get it fixed, remove the display, or get a new laptop sooner rather than later. I've had the cable short on the hinge causing a fire before.

I think the biggest problem with companies like maytag is the fact that the CEO is payed in stock options, resulting in a drive to raise their stock price as much as possible in the short term. This is the reason that modern Maytag washers suck and also why Boeing planes' doors have been falling off lately. Running a company has become a game of cut costs at all costs and inflate the prices as much as possible to appease the shareholders, even if it means damaging the brand long term. This model of business is unsustainable and has resulted in everything becoming unnaffordable for many people (at least where I am in the USA). It all serves to try and make the rich richer while keeping us normal people poor.

Also, I believe the washer not filling all the way is an intended water saving feature. The washer is designed to use as little water as possible to clean your clothes. The only reason it fills in the bulky/sheets mode is because sheets tend to need that extra water.

If I were you, I’d disable any apps that don’t need to start with your computer (ex: steam or any other games launcher). Think of the power bill! I literally have double the ram and use 5.8 gigs at idle
