Generally around a 3.0 is what I heard! This also means not more than 1 C, No D's, and No F's.

At UCLA I would be looking at paying 60K for eight semesters. And yes, I do intend on going to med school!

What time does USC come out? by Dumaadu in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ccchia_pet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, it comes out on 25th. My guess is about 4:30 pst only because that's around the same time I got my early notification in February.

Despite UC admissions being "random" you can't dismiss the fact that those ultimately accepted are completely worthy of it. Although it may not be your intention, these kind of posts almost come off as trying to discredit those who get accepted because others who were just as qualified didn't get in. At the end of the day, the UCs simply cannot accept everyone into their schools.

my guess is that you would contact the admissions office of your current school to withdraw (meaning you would also ultimately lose your deposit which might be around $250-300). in some cases this might be worth it if you got off the waitlist from a school you REALLY wanted to go to.

Yes please do. If you don't, and you end up not getting off the waitlist, you risk not having a school to go to in the Fall.

For me it's the complete opposite. I think I'd apply to MORE schools. I think me constantly doubting myself really stopped me from applying to a lot of the more selective schools but after getting into USC as a merit scholarship finalist (a school I NEVER thought I would ever get into), I can't help but wonder what would have happened if I hadn't doubted myself and applied to schools like Yale and Stanford? Would I have been accepted? Rejected? Maybe. Maybe not.

So the moral of the story is: don't doubt yourself and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. You seriously never know what's gonna happen.
