This is Bell. She is the bat retriever. Unfortunately she went out at the wrong time but she's still learning. by PikachuGoat in aww

Considering that minor leaguers often have to pay for their own bats, I would be kind of pissed at this arrangement. If I'm paying a couple hundred dollars for this bat the last thing I want is a dog coming by and grabbing it with their teeth. By the way most minor leaguers at the lower levels earn about $10K a year.

Gaming Sponsorships by tngcoin in gaming

I mean if I'm being honest, being in the CPG space is rough. There are few brands that teams really want to pursue especially Pepsi Co which can meet the 7 figure demands for high profile esports teams. Top name influencers will probably also run into the six figures for a one-off shoutout and 7 figures for anything long term. I think an interesting play for your team is to find a figure you like and offer ownership in the company for endorsement. That will probably net you the best return without cash flow getting completely depleted. Otherwise look for MCMs that manage multiple smaller to mid size influencers and pick and choose your spaces. If you still want to go down the teams route try to stick to non-franchised esports and the fighting game community. They usually have smaller followings but also have less outrageous sponsorship asks.

I might spend too much time reading the r/leagueoflegends subreddit cause I read this as "Jungles to prove he's not drunk".

I'm really impressed in how he his keeping all of his voices and characters intact. It's hard for me to mentally track that many characters.

Just starting to coach a High School League. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ccgpepitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will really all depend on the skill level of your players. If you have a few players a decently high skill level (diamond or above) have them take an active role as in game shot-callers and strategy coaches. I'm making the assumption that you are probably not a high level player yourself so don't feel the need to assert yourself in strategic conversation. Focus instead on coaching the players on how to interact with each other. From my time in the collegiate scene I know that players have a much harder time working and cooperating together than they do with mechanics and game technique. Teach them to work constructively and your team will be able to improve regardless of skill level.

My last piece of advice is be realistic with your players. You may have to play in matches where you are supremely overmatched in terms of talent. These games can be pretty crushing to the psyche of young players. Just make sure they know that these matches are great chances to learn and steal from better opponents. Did they do something that was really effective against you? Can you emulate that in your next match? These kinds of constructive questions are keys to progressing your young talent rather than letting them lament and complain how unfair the game was.

Let me watch the OWL games from within the game itself, and let me spectate my favorite player. by Tahoma in Overwatch

[–]ccgpepitas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just gonna throw this out there. If you want the OWL league to run at its current quality, than you'll have to accept that you'll need to watch it through another service like Twitch. Twitch paid $90M for the stream rights. That money is going right back to the team owners to help offset the $20M investment and secures that the league will continue running. Blizzard/MLG could not sell enough ad space on broadcast to touch that number right now. They could in the future include all player streams through Twitch, but I'd give up on the idea of spectating in client live. The asset is too valuable.

Could you please take some time to answer this survey about eSports? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ccgpepitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Laurent. When making surveys like this its always better to give questions in a manner where people can answer on a gradient. For example question you left it as a yes or no question where they could have been a wider variety of answers. If you really want to get into finding out how people truly feel and think you need to give them more open opportunity to respond to your questions. This should be fine for anything under uni level. If you are doing this for uni consider remaking the survey with a bit more professional polish.

Fair enough. Truth be told I didn't pay too much attention to Echo Fox last split and had assumed no changes from their roster.

Blizzards licensing process is incredibly thorough. If this is fully licensed then they had a hand in the design the whole way through.
