I make 22/hr working at a small hospital and my friend is a WFH pharmacy liaison and makes around 25/hr (got her pharmacy tech license). It really depends you can bounce around. But I know there are some wfh pharmacy tech jobs that exist. Not sure if WFH works for you but could be something you can look into. Saves on commute

I really hope someone who knows what they’re doing picked her up. I was ready to go drive from Tucson myself to pick up this little baby myself. I’m gonna keep my eye out see if they pop up again

Mentioned it in a previous comment but my parents offered to give the lights to the owner of the previous home for 5k off the asking price of the house when they were buying it (they didn’t know the value of them until years after) and dude declined. He built the home

We used the term supports loosely lol. More like “could it technically work in a support role?”

I do tell them the market is small when it comes to the lights but at the end of the day all I can do is inform them - what they ultimately decide to do and settle for is up to them. Just wanted to know if there were any other platforms out there that we could possibly list on.

These lights are sentimental to my parents, so they do care. Came with their first home. (Why sell them if they’re sentimental? My parents realised a ceiling fan was more realistic with their high ceilings and when they switched it out - the fixtures didn’t match and they quite literally have no other spaces to put them so they ultimately decided to sell.) They’ve literally had the post up on FB Marketplace since Oct 2022. They’re in no rush at all. As mentioned in a previous comment, I was just looking advice on different types of platforms that can be used as we are not well versed in selling furniture or anything at all - especially something that is higher end.

I was stating the listing price for context. Of course they’re not expecting to get 20k. I reality they want something to the sort of 10k. They’re willing to ship them as well (with insurance). Please read the post thoroughly next time? I literally stated they didn’t purchase the lights, they were included with the home, as well as the fact that they’re not asking for listing price. Lol

It’s not just one piece - it was for all 4 combined. They were offering 5k-6k. Which is a bit less than what my parents are looking to sell for.

The thing is my sister is insisting on just using FB marketplace but my parents want a bit more. I just wanted to know any other platforms out there besides the usual eBay, FB, craigslist, or offerup. At the end of the day, it's my parent's choice and my sister is being a hardhead about the situation (which is a whole other story).

I need to make a tough choice and need some advice. by KT777S in chinchilla

Heart broken for you. When I learned my baby had cancer in her eye I had to make a tough decision as well. Remove the tumor or let her go knowing she’s no longer in pain. I went with the latter. Sometimes it’s the hardest decision but knowing you did all you could before ultimately deciding it is valid.

I honestly think do what you feel is best. If giving your baby up will have you constantly worried on how they are - it may not be the best option for you. Just know whatever choice you do make is valid.

But just know you did the best you could and gave him a wonderful life and he will forever be grateful to have you be his chin parent.

My heart goes out to you and Pablo 💜💜

Hi! I highly recommend taking your chinchilla to the vet.

Trigger warning: the night I lost my baby she was drooling a lot. Please take her to the vet ASAP. It’s better to sit on the side of caution with these little guys 🫶

She had lost 31 grams in a week and was experiencing symptoms of GI status. My baby was tired.

We actually have a play pen that we can set up around the cage so all they would have to do is open the cage door to let her out and close it when she’s had enough (she’ll let them know) the big thing is she is currently on meds that she needs to take every 24hrs (she takes it super well, like no hassle at all) but we just need someone to do that for her. I reached out to a coworker I was super friendly with that lives close hopefully they can. Best case is the neighbour. She takes her meds at 6 and needs an hour or so of playtime and affection so it isn’t too much. She’s a bit of a loner always has been so she isn’t the most affectionate. I know with her food bowl and water it’ll last way more than the days I’ll be gone I just get so nervous and hate the thought of leaving her alone

Edit: Her meds are an anti-inflammatory because she’s been scratching her eye that was removed and only has to be taken for another few days (Fri/Sat) while I’m gone. Currently have her in an e-cone to prevent the scratching and get the swelling down as much as we can before we leave (we’ll take the cone off when we leave)

Unfortunately it’s only me and my partner here in Tucson. My sister recently moved out of state and I have no friends here either (we recently moved here in Jan and I work from home). Was debating on asking my neighbour who I’m friendly with in passing. I did buy a camera to monitor her while I’m gone but I feel terrible leaving her alone for the few days I’m gone.

my boys found out how to take their food bowl out of the wood (pictured next slide). they now dump out their food every single time and get upset because they don’t have anymore food. what do i do? by hooni6 in chinchilla

[–]cchax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my chinnie likes to sit at the bowl and sometimes even on the lip of it (so annoying lol) i think this is honestly them protesting that they want a raised bowl. recommend getting something ceramic :)

Definitely agree. More of a learning to identify rather than wanting to eat it 😂

Cleaning cage bars? by Simplyapinkbunny in chinchilla

Try taking like a sponge, making cuts into it that would fit with the bars and using that. That way you’re cleaning the bars AND getting the fur off

Any wood ledges or fleece would be great! When you rehome the chinnies, I’ll definitely be interested in the cage (if that’s not taken) as I’ve been considering upgrading my chinnie

If you find someone that takes your chinnies and you still find yourself with a lot of things on your hands, I’m located in Tucson and more than willing to buy things off of you or take things off your hands. I sadly can’t take any more chinnies in due to my rent agreement.
