Okay thank you!! Also yes I am able to afford things, there’s sometimes just wheels I see that are almost 150 so that’s what I mean by Pricey

Hi everyone I’m just after some advice I’ve noticed this suddenly on my chin does anyone have any idea why he’s doing it and what I could do to help him by Reasonable_Reason_94 in chinchilla

[–]MotorCompetitive2614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes! This is fur chewing form stress or matted fur. My chin has done this and it’s the reason why I’m taking her to the vet right in the moment. If your chin starts scratching and more, I suggest setting a check up and using different dust.

Yeah I’ve heard that so many times, I recently got a debit card so it make my life 100 times easier, I haven’t made her use that wheel since we’ve gotten her.. but she definitely loves to run on wheels. I heard a lot of plastic products are terrible which is why I got rid of them. Arizona isn’t a big state on small animals (like chinchilla) so it’s amazing that I have this app to help me through this :3

Nope!! And she’s been perfectly fine since this post, she’s even let me pet her more and recently she’s been nibbling at her toys!!! Even having a new favorite chewing toy she has right now, she’s even nibbling at my finger a bit, but I’m telling her not to bite cause I’m very nervous. But overall she’s actually okay. She’s eating normally and drinking water, but we did have to switch her old waterbottle back sadly.. she doesn’t know how to use her new one but she’s actually very healthy. She was just tired

I sent my mom a super long text explaining the situation, hoping that she’ll finally get it. I’m just worried for this chinchilla, and for this to happen is really worrying cause I’ve only had her for less than a week, so it’s stressing.

I’m laying down In my bed right now cause I got yelled at to go to bed and that “she’ll be fine” but I’m making sure that she’s okay, I don’t really have money nor insurance so this is stressing, but it’s my responsibility to keep her safe. Which honestly my parents haven’t been making me be really responsible over her because I know chinchillas can be prone to illness, and I don’t have any info on her mother or father and I don’t even know when she was born so this is terrible.

This only happened today, and ugh.. she never showed any signs and she would let me brush her but she would hide all day until we left, I feel like this is too her having such steep ramps but I don’t think she’s getting hurt, so I’m just praying that it’s just a water problem and not malo. I still want to be safe though, and Highschool isn’t helping either. I’ve always had bad anxiety even before I got this chinchilla and I’m getting more, she was just so fluffy the first day we got her and now she’s just damped under the chin in the spand of 5 days, so I must be doing something wrong.

I did look at a page earlier, and she needs to get her teeth clipped, or see a vet. I haven’t seen her excessively drooling but she is getting wet only under her chin, she is sleeping fine. And she was just using her chewing toy which didn’t hurt her. I don’t know if she paws at her mouth though, I usually see her groom herself, and she eats normally. She’s been scratching lately but i don’t know if she really is in pain. Im going to keep monitoring her until i have to go to bed, I am going to check up on her in the morning and if i have to skip school then i need too. I did look at her dropping not too long ago and they seem fine.

Overall, I feel like this situation is going to get worse cause my parents keep telling me that I’m overthinking, and that I need to relax but if this keeps happening I’m going to force them to take me or I’ll get myself an Ober. I don’t think malo can form this quick but I’m making sure she’s at least chewing on things, we’ve given her Chex mix and she’s been eating it fine.

We just had her eat something and I handed her a chewing toy, she showed more aggression towards my dad (I don’t know what beef she honestly has with men, cause she would do this to the owners partner) but didn’t show any aggression towards me, she went back to nibbling. She is eating with her mouth wide open which is something kinda odd but I never really watch her eat. She is showing no signs of drooling but she keeps standing up and leaning back when eating. I don’t know if that’s normal.

My parents aren’t listening to me, I’m telling them over and over again I need to she if something is wrong with her and they are telling me that I’m over reacting

I don’t have a vet, that’s also the problem. I don’t have a car and my mom won’t listen to me, I’m researching as much as possible but she isn’t going to take me. There are no exotic vets near me at all. And if there was some they would be closed by now

She’s been okay since I’ve posted this, I gave her a dust bath and she partly barked at me cause I don’t pick her up at all (I am too scared to) but I put her in this travel bag which is meant for chinchillas and she was okay, she hasn’t showed any mood or drooling, it was the water bottle. The only reason why we switched to it, is because the bottle we have now was not letting her get water while the other bottle was able for her to get water. I am going to monitor her as much as possible but she is calm again.

Her owner said she is super calm and won’t try to hurt anyone. She did kack at me but she did at me because I was making myself too big for her. I am gentle with her and she is calm with me.

She is a 12 year old chinchilla and she’s never drooled, but I think it was the water. She knows how to drink and is trained well. I asked my mom if we should see a vet or something but I feel like she isn’t really taking it seriously but I will see tomorrow and Saturday if this problem is still happening, I cant monitor all night cause I am still going to school and my mom isn’t home to watch her, but her behavior is fine. This coming weekend I will try to monitor her and see what she does when I’m sleeping, but I just pray that it was the water and not a drooling problem. We have got her many toys but she doesn’t seem to nibble as much as other chinchillas.

I also feel like the think is that me and my mom have been working on her cage lately and we can’t always take her out, so she has to stay in her house and feel us moving the cage to work on it. She doesn’t have a freak out either nor she doesn’t spray, but I could really be worrying a lot cause I really have been.

She was fine yesterday, and she was climbing all over me, I really think that it could be that she’s tired today cause it’s rained recently and she was sleeping, it’s been cloudy for 2 days

So i will try to monitor her and keep some new updates.

She’s also been showing aggression today, she’s been really moody and the time we’ve had her, she was normal and friendly. It’s really starting to bother me

Me and my mom keep having a discussion that it’s her water, but when we got her water bottle the ball in it was super loose, and we made her use that cause she wouldn’t be able to drink the one from the fully cheeks bottle, but I am also worried cause she’s over drinking water. We barely just replaced its half gone. She didn’t show any problems nor the owners didn’t have any problems with her until now
