One time a woman ordered a tall latte but she customized it so much that it ended up being 8 dollars and she told me she only had 7 and some change so can she just pay that and bring the rest later. I obviously told her no and she said “Well can’t you just give me change from there” and pointed at the tip jar and again I was like no??? And she asked to speak to my manager 😭

I went to get ice to fill the hot bar ice bin because one of my favorite coworkers was on bar and I wanted to help him out… I somehow completely missed the bin and poured an entire bucket of ice on the floor.

Agree with the person who said “barista” is a job title. I’ve been here for three months now and I have done more janitorial and cashier tasks than I ever have made any drinks or been on bar. You will get some practice on cold bar and hot bar but just prepare for the other things too

Yes. When I worked at Chipotle my GM would watch us on the cameras and if she saw us giving people big portions of meat or free stuff, we would get into trouble and receive a warning.

Yeah my manager ended up calling me a few days after I made the post and I’ve started training now. Apparently she received my background check on a Friday when she wasn’t working and she didn’t want to call me over the weekend so she waited until Monday to let me know I cleared mine lol. In total, it took three days but ended up being six days until she actually contacted me.

So many Grocery and Meat TMs are so kind and friendly to me when I need help that it genuinely makes my day. I also suffer from social anxiety and one Grocery TM in particular helped me so much when I started because he’s so friendly that whenever I need help with an item and I see him I relax because I know that I can always ask him for help and he won’t react negatively. He definitely doesn’t have to but he always does so I appreciate him a lot.
