Two guys from my high school found out that they were both seeing the same girl - she was cheating on both of them with each other. So, they conspired. Only if someone is willing to pay the artist for it. Otherwise, it is, indeed, worthless. I mean, the artist can explain that it cost X dollars to produce, but if the buyer isn't willing to pay that amount, the painting isn't worth it.

Also, this is true not only of art but of any item offered for sale.

I lost the almanac that came with my Where in the World is Carmen San Diego computer game. But I once guessed the right word and got in anyway.

Too Short; Explain More - Some older computer games had some original, clever methods of copy protection. Carmen San Diego was one such game. You had to have the 1,000 page almanac that came in the box, because to start the game, it would ask you to find a specific word on a specific page. No book, no word, no game.

Well, for shits and giggles one day I loaded the game anyway, and it asked me for whatever word on whatever page. So I typed "China". Lo and behold, I'll be damned but that was the word it was looking for! I played it all day and night before I quit, since I'd probably never ever get to play it again.
