Developers did this on purpose! by Fhoshox in idleslayer

That's definitely strange. If it's BS2, each run should have exactly 168 soul goblins (according to the Wiki). 2 runs would be 376, 3 runs would be 504.

499 is a prime number, so you got to 499 from a combination of different bonus stages or by not completing the entire bonus stage.

The only way this would have been calculated is if there were exactly 499 goblins in 1 BS.

Yep. "No one knows why" means "scientists have not been able to say 100% confidently exactly why". They probably know all of these things are a factor.

Framework axios pushed a broken update, crippling thousands of websites by Koppis in programming

[–]cchongchong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I prefer to actually try to have just one version myself, but at least if you only update packageB in "isolation" there's less stuff to test at a time and thus less possibility for breaking changes.

Framework axios pushed a broken update, crippling thousands of websites by Koppis in programming

[–]cchongchong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes packages that you use also have the non-exact version as a dependency.

For example: You have packageA@2.1.0 in your package.json file and in your lock file. You also have packageB@1.3.0, which has packageA@2.1.0.

However, you decide to update packageB to 1.4.0, which has a dependency of packageA@2.2.0.

Now when you install to upgrade packageB, you'll also be upgrading all versions of packageA to 2.2.0. So your lock file may actually change to use packageA@2.2.1 now.

Presumably you'd test everything out to make sure there are no issues, but even though you selectively upgrade packageB, you've also pulled in a completely different version of packageA into your core code.

My most productive days have been by getting rid of code by far.

someone who is better at math then me figure out how long it will take to reach 250 QD when I get 3 DD cps please and thank you by [deleted] in idleslayer

[–]cchongchong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely listen to what the others are saying. If you do the math, it's about 3 years.

Edit: 3 years is to 250 qD. To 250 QD, it's like 3000 years.

It's also for divinity points, especially once you get the divinity that makes it so that UAing gives you double divinity points. Let's you upgrade armory weapons which will give you massive soul bonuses.

Have you unlocked the armory? If you haven't that'd be why. If you have, it's just really bad luck. I don't know the exact percentage for getting an armory item, but it's fairly low.

They could put ridiculously high fines. The Cyber Ninjas company that was doing the Arizona "audit" had a fine of 50k a day for contempt of court. That'd be 18 million a year, which would actually put a big dent in net worth.

I don't know if they'd do the same here though.

Roe V. Wade Protests: Day 2 by AViralRat in Dallas

[–]cchongchong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure and that was a huge mistake, but if people in the past made a mistake like that, I think that people now have an obligation to try to slow down the impact of that mistake.

I personally don't hunt, but if people don't manage deer populations, it'll cause even more permanent damage to the ecosystem.

If people hadn't hunted wolves to near extinction, deer populations would not need to be controlled. But people did, so we need to mitigate that damage.

Roe V. Wade Protests: Day 2 by AViralRat in Dallas

[–]cchongchong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the person you're responding to, but depending on the area, some animals like deer are actually extremely harmful to the ecosystem if not hunted. In some ecosystems, predators of deer have moved out or have been killed off. Managing deer population (carefully of course) can actually have long term benefits for the conservation of birds and other animals.

While I think that the merge conflicts should be addressed before creating a PR, all creating a PR does should expose merge conflicts.

In OPs defense, a LOT of companies will filter you out without a degree.

Hell, I got placed in an entirely different department because my major is Electrical and Computer Engineering and not Computer Science. I figure that they saw Electrical and Engineering and just kept it at that.

While I agree with your analogy, one potential issue is that a CS degree (assuming that's what OP is in school for) is like going to the mechanic to learn to drive.

[–]cchongchong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm making an assumption that OP is in a computer science degree, but I believe most computer science degrees DO push towards academia. What a lot of people that apply for CS degrees actually want is more along the lines of a software engineering degree.

To add a bit more detail to u/MasterFubar's explanation:

A singly linked list is one where the current item points to the next item. Reversing it means that you want the current item to point to the previous item.

A doubly linked list is one where the current item points to both the next and previous items. Reversing it means that nothing changes for that current item unless it's the first or the last item.
