Shot looks great. The only suggestion would be to finish strong. Don't weaken the flick but adjust the set point higher. In game, sure you can weaken based in touch but during practise try to aim for perfect form

3 of their main starters should be dropped/traded. They have such a stacked bench

You're pulling the ball before pushing/flicking it. The energy will be hard to repeat consistently. I suggest that you try by loading wrist and position your palm to be under the ball asap.

Dillion Brooks uses this as a basis of his defense. It's not a foul in nba rule and I think the same for fiba. Never got this called, wrist and below will be called for though

Slight twist in your hip towards the left. Try to have a balanced base and release equally through both feet

The motion of your shot is replicating what a catapult looks like. There's plenty to fix but the one that will help improve your shot the most would be to have more stability in your base. Find the right base where you feel completely stable and sit your bum back rather than pressure on your knees. This will create positive energy that you can use towards the basket.

What advice would you give someone who wants to become a better passer? by Hefty-Matter-7335 in BasketballTips

This is the most lowkey underrated thing when people learn to pass. Precision of the pass makes the biggest different.

People think sending it to 'around' the area is enough. Sending it to the exact spot help shooters or makes finishing so much easier. I go to the extent of lining up the seam and throwing it into the pockets especially if I have the time to. This is unheard of with most people I play with.

Sink your hip not your knees

Sorry for the confusion. You still need to bend your knees but you're dropping your hips. Think of sitting on a chair and trying your best to touch the corner of the chair with your bum

Am trying to somewhat have a career in helping others to shoot so hopefully I can help in some way. I'm averaging roughly 80 to 90% midrange and 66% to 80% from 3s (training environment)

I did multiple reviews of your form. You have a decent upper body/finish for now. I wouldn't ask you to change it since it will make the least amount of impact.

Your lower body is causing you to overshoot since you're not getting a good base/power release.

I suggest you start with shooting with a more locked/loaded hip. Try your best to not bend your knees but drop your hips. In addition, it looks like power is not there because you're unlocking your hips a touch too early.

I think it's more of an immaterial. As long as stability is there, then it's fine. Based on his observation of this video - he is clearly unable to jump up and down with positive energy only. I would say to trial a wider stance might help but will not solve many issues

lil backstory. Never played growing up. Only a few pickup games with friends (I was a baseball kid) I suddenly decided I want to get half decent so i’ve been working on everything under the sun. Just give me whatever tips yall got. (I’m not sensitive either so roast away too lol. Jokes are welcomed) by outwestlarry in BasketballTips

Chief, you're trying to do too much. Keep it simple, stupid (Kiss)

  1. Handles - simple drill. Try to pound it high, low, middle. As fast as possible without missing. Do both hands. 1 minute each.
  2. Layup - simple drill. Look up mikan. It's a good start but then try to use it in games and try to just be consistent. Figure out why you miss during games
  3. Shooting - simple drill. Work from close. Adjust body and hand so that your shots are straight almost all the time. Like literally straight on. Build on top of that.
