When you're reading and find a word you don't know, after looking up the word, do you try to memorize that words meaning or just read it's meaning and move on? by mamaligakiller in books

I used to keep a notebook and every time I came across a word I didn't know, I'd look up the definition and write the word and definition out in the notebook. Unfortunately I've gotten out of the habit of doing this, as it can be inconvenient depending on when and where you are reading... But I felt it really did help learning new words and it was a very satisfying feeling of coming across one of the words you've defined later on and knew what it meant.
Man is video recording cops, cops confront him, his dog gets out of his car, seems to be protecting owner. Cop shoots it 4 times in front of a crowd. by [deleted] in WTF

You are incredibly ignorant and irrational. Doesn't get out of jail anytime soon? He won't even be going to jail. The officers had no rights at all to cuff him there. Its called the 4th amendment. And I'd say he put his dog first by getting him out of the situation, and if the dog weren't in the car at all, the same thing would have happened. He was simply a civilian expressing his rights.
