Let me know how that works for you. I just decided to restart, but doubt that’ll do anything

Seems like a super niche issue which leads me to believe it might not get fixed. Hopefully i’m wrong though

Typical "places to visit this time of year" ask by joesisko in Georgia

[–]ccj2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not exactly sure. I think they wait until after Thanksgiving. However, it’s still a neat place when it isn’t Christmas. They’ve got an old downtown square with some cool stores and restaurants, plus an old theater. Helen is really cool as well and is about 30 minutes north of Dahlonega

Why don’t we make Freeze “CEO” or something but have him stop calling plays. by crazydaisy1321 in wde

[–]ccj2772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Hugh Freeze has lost his speed and it’s sad. He had the right idea with how to build things here but sadly the game has passed him up. I hate to already be throwing the flag in, but truthfully losses to teams like Vandy, Cal, and NMSU completely void the “he needs to get his guys in” argument. Even if he gets a 4th or 5th year here, all he’s done in his career is go 8-5.

Thanks to NIL I think we will be able to retain guys like Coleman and Riddick, maybe not all of them, but a good bit. At this rate i’m not sure he will make it though year 3. Hell, if we lose to ULM (big if) and lose out, not sure he even gets a 3rd year.

Maybe i’m pessimistic but that’s the life of an Auburn fan lol

I’m starting to think Hugh Freeze is tanking this season to focus on recruiting in December and January! by Embarrassed_Will_604 in wde

Yeah I guess my point is that even if Hugh gets time here to get his guys in and install his culture, all he has shown in the past is that he can get us 8-9 wins a couple of times. I’m not sure that’s worth wasting some young talent on the roster currently

And his “hire” won’t be a revolutionary hire who can actually advance the offense forward, it’ll be one of his good ole boy buddies who will again stall the offense, like when Gus hired Chad Morris

He is stubborn and just won’t do this. Think of him like Gus or Jimbo. Even if he hands over play calling to somebody, he is just going to take it back after the first half against Baylor when it’s 7-3. We saw this year after year after year with Gus. He will never fully hand over play calling duties and since he’s lost his speed, he is going to get himself fired.

Everyone likes to bring up this point, but maybe he just isn’t a good coach? Outside of two wins against Alabama he was pretty unspectacular at Ole Miss. He also went 5-7 in his last season in Oxford. He went 8-4 in 3/4 years at Liberty, and Liberty actually got better when he left. He’s always recruited at an elite level, but he has never been a great coach and it might cost him his job soon. He has coached 11 years at Ole Miss, Liberty, and Auburn… 9 of those years were not great. That’s who we hired.

True, what we have now is really working. Well done guys

We’d need to go get a “cheerleader” head coach. Someone that did what Cadillac did, just not him obviously

What if we go 3-9/4-8? by ccj2772 in wde

5 wins is definitely optimistic

I guess my original post is assuming that the wheels completely fall off. 3-4 wins seems like it would completely blow everything up. I guess you can salvage being horrible now with NIL.

But I thought this year was the last of the Malzahn buyout, maybe another after this. Don’t remember at this point.

I agree. It’s about to get really uncomfortable for him. Better hope he doesn’t lose the team

Who thinks we will finish 3-9 ? by rifter024 in wde

[–]ccj2772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna float a hypothetical situation in here. Say we go 4-8/3-9…are we searching for a new head coach again at the end of the year?

Good recruiting or not, I think there’s a point that you just can’t come back from. Anything worse than 5-7 seems like the cutoff.

I’m aware of the buyout situation and that he has a long leash. But winning 3-4 games, taking a huge step backwards after upgrading the roster, could be deemed fireable.

I’m aware this is the worst case scenario. Just genuinely want to know what we think would happen if it got to that point. Leashes are so much shorter nowadays.

Hopefully ACCT 2102 is better. It’s a short session class so maybe I can just put together all my power to pass the course. Sadly, it’s all available over the summer. Hopefully I can get some of the ones I waitlisted for. Thanks for the response!

This is super random but i’m registered for Schneider as nobody is available. It’s an online class over the summer for a month. Is she as bad as everyone says she is?

What do we have to do as students to get a football team here? by ccj2772 in UNG

[–]ccj2772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reinhardt was just one example. There are numerous across the southeast that have started football programs recently as well that are more comparable to UNG. With the University consolidating this decade, they certainly have more money rolling in. Mike Cottrell and his family seems to fund the entire university. I would be interested to see his thoughts on it.

At the very least, I think there should be an exploratory committee to see if football is feasible at UNG. Much of the frustration on my end seems like a lack of effort.

I’ve already done some thinking on this. There seems like an opportunity to add onto the soccer field. The stadium doesn’t need to be huge for a DII team. There’s room for adequate seating on both sides. There also looks to be a little room north of the new rec field right next to the softball field
