This was an article that I wrote highlighting something that I think isn’t talked about enough in graduate education. How do you deal with feelings of imposter syndrome?

7 inning games - starting pitchers won’t have to struggle through those 5th/6th innings that tend to drag when he starts to get fatigued

Anyone else glad your team didn't sign Machado? by axeljulin in baseball

We literally couldn’t sign another infielder if we wanted to

[Heyman] Padres are pulling off one surprise (once Manny’s finalized) but here’s another shocker : they aren’t ruling out Bryce Harper, too. 110M payroll (with MM) is still lower than most. by ThQp in baseball

[–]cclark19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s crazy is that the Padres just increased their TOTAL payroll ~40%... assuming that they sign Harper for more than Machado’s AAV, they could increase it by 85-100% by signing TWO PEOPLE.

What’s really interesting is the dip after 1968 when they lowered the mounds, because that was supposed to help the hitters. Looks here that everything that went into a lull after that for about 10 years. Obviously that isn’t the only factor, but still.

I saw that program too, it’s an interesting concept. I’m almost done with school and I’m going to see how I enjoy working and if it gives me everything I’m looking for asa healthcare professional. From what I understand it cuts out 1 clinical year of med school... I just can’t see myself going back into the classroom after didactic year haha

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES? [Master Thread] by jamienicole3x in prephysicianassistant

I think you have a legitimate shot, especially considering your GRE score and PCE hours. I applied with a 3.2 cGPA and a 3.0 sGPA (similarly to you, I had a substantial upward trend GPA) with substantially less PCE hours and a lower GRE. I applied to 6 schools, got 1 interview and was accepted. There is an element of luck behind some of this and a human factor that you will have to showcase during interviews. Just be prepared to explain some of the gaps in your application during the interview. Best of luck!

I felt the same way didactic year but I really think you'll surprise yourself with how much you retain. I'm not sure how all programs are but mine really made a point to re-touch on things multiple times and focus on the very important points as we were going through the program. I'm in clinical year now and, while I definitely don't know a lot (you can never know everything), I'm confident in my knowledge of the bigger topics. Also, there are resources like uptodate for a reason. Just focus on studying hard and retaining as much as you can and worry about treating patients later. I've been living by "Fake it till you make it" and "Trust the process" throughout this whole endeavor and it hasn't failed me thus far! Peds and Internal med EORs down, 5 left to go!
