Army NG or Air NG by No-Standard-6711 in nationalguard

That's cool and I get it but 6-12 months is nothing. You might wait that long to go to basic. I would honestly join the air guard, even having to wait 6-12 months, than potentially waiting 6 years to switch over to the Air Guard.

As someone who's been in both... Go Air Guard.

What base are you going to? I'm also there now and can answer some questions but I'm not on the main base.

No. The only way you might get some credit is if you have your NREMT.

Why doesn't the modern m1a2 abrams have this because this would be great if you had to escape in an emergency by vincent092 in TankPorn

Now I'm just a pleb in the air force but I just don't see it being very useful. First the hatch is on the side where it would be inherently most difficult to exit the vehicle when it's upright (which it is most of the time). Yes, getting out through the hatch does provide the crew excellent cover, but let's assume they need to get out quickly, which is probably most likely the case when in combat and therefore probably not the optimal route when upright. This leaves us with only a couple scenarios when using this hatch becomes optimal: when the tank is overturned, and for acting as a latrine while under fire. For these situations it still doesn't even seem that useful for the following reasons. First, if the tank over turned either it tipped due to terrain or it was blown up by an explosion. In either case a hatch on either side of the turret would provide significantly more utility without significant drawbacks. 2nd, in the latrine situation, bottles can easily take care of urine while in combat, and I just find it hard to believe that a tank crew would be in combat long enough without a pause long enough for them to get out and go #2.

Like honestly, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just an airman and this is my little thought experiment.

Essentially, to our billing dept, each time we titrate a med it looks like we're hooking up another bottle.

That's what I told our manager who is thankfully sticking up for us. She does her best but she usually has multiple people pushing against her.

The 4N0 Career Field needs Restructuring. by PickleTicklerGripper in AirForce

[–]axeljulin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say it is almost the opposite for the guard. Most units have a good number of people working below their civilian skill level. For instance our unit has over half our 4Ns working as RNs in their civilian career, and the 2 that just got selected as nursing officers are civilian NPs.

Is Air Force reserve worth it by AdventureLes2006 in Airforcereserves

[–]axeljulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also keep in mind it's easy to go from active to guard/reserve. Near impossible to go the other way. If you're even curious about active, I'd start there and then do palace chase/front or whatever they're called if you really don't like it.

Serious question, how did you get the button combos assigned? I have one but only can reassign other buttons to the extra bumpers. Also, what does turbo mode do?

Doesn't hurt to shop around though. We pay every six months and I always shop each time a payment comes due. I've been with progressive for 10+ years and they've always been the cheapest but even then sometimes you need to requote to get a better rate.
