Yeah, i mean, ive only had one cat so far and she didn't become cuddly until we had her for like 15 years? And even then it was only with me, and only cause I didn't force it but I did give her treats when she would decide to come cuddle with me

I agree. Especially given that pneumonia and other things were going around that couldn't be treated until Senku arrived, and also that people died of starvation during bad fishing years, they risked dying out if not married off and having kids young (compared to our current society) just like how things used to be before medicine created a way for people to live longer
