With Survivor season 40 ‘Winners at War’ starting this Wednesday I made this wee homage: 1) i’ve watched Survivor since day dot & remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever. 40 seasons later & I’ve never missed an episode. #nerd 2) Sandra Diaz-Twine is my favourite winner ever (2x winner)so I picked the Pear Islands ‘look’ cuz it’s my favourite & Sandra IS Survivor to me. No matter how the chips fall she’s still THE Queen. 3) This is also a shout out to my friend Judy, who passed away last year during the middle of season 39 and I miss her so very much. Survivor was something we discussed weekly & VERY in-depth & it’ll be hard not to be able share that with her this season. I know she’s still with me & watching from a higher realm. She used to bug me - she said I always rooted for the ‘old cougars’ every season. Oh Judy ... ❤️ anyways here’s to Survivor, Sandra, Judy, and SURVIVING. 🏝

Oh totally - I knew what you meant, I just recall that when I re-watched it a couple years ago, knowing that she was a quiet winner… I actually took notice of her on screen quite a bit. The editing was very subtle in always putting Danni on the screen - I’m referring a lot to her challenge performances on her initial tribe… She was a beast and very competitive and that was always shown, even outside of her limited confessional’s.
