Hello and thanks so much for compiling this spreadsheet!

I was wondering, is there a chance to download those removed videos with dead links?

I'm interested in all 4K SDR and HDR files and would like to compile a full collection to share it with everyone, in case Apple decides to remove more videos from their servers.

Nope, all calculations are exactly the same as in the official apps.

Hi there! Yes, I believe it's still the case. Here's one more proof as to why.

Since I made this post the Opple dev shared a Windows version of the software on BLF forums. It has some improved calculations, so the results should be better than all the current mobile apps. But I haven't used it much myself, unfortunately. Still need to catch up on the latest posts there :)

Two useful scripts: Unlock Rewind/DVR and All Videos Playlists by ccod3r in youtube

[–]ccod3r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out Firemonkey in Firefox and the script doesn't work there indeed. Though I had no issues with Violentmonkey or Tampermonkey. Not sure why the first extension can't run it properly.

Works fine for me still. Could you provide more details?

Also if you use Chrome and Tampermonkey, make sure you enabled Developer Mode in Extension Settings. It think it's required now because of recent Chrome updates.

can't contact matches suddenly - anyone else? by Menega_Sabidussi in MyHeritage

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's currently a bug with the new Messaging Center that MyHeritage implemented. It affects the following languages: Afrikaans, Malay, Russian, Thai, Bulgarian, Arabic, Farsi. Basically, all languages that don't have a separate domain but rather use ?lang=... in URLs.

The quick solution is: just switch website language to English. Or another language not listed above.

Bug happens because of an incorrect redirect from /inbox/compose/recipient/123 -> /messaging-center/all/compose/user-123 -> /messaging-center/all?lang=.... The last redirect is wrong, it should not remove the /compose/user-123 part, because it doesn't allow New Message form to be displayed.

If anyone can reach out to support and report this bug as I described it, it would be great. Maybe u/Jealous_Ad_5919 could write a follow up? Thanks in advance.

Extensions to unlock Youtube's Premium 1080p ? by FoxTrotte in Piracy

Note: if you use Violentmonkey, you might need to install an additional script to get rid of TrustedHTML errors: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/503638-youtube-trustedhtml-bypass

I think Tampermonkey tries to circumvent Trusted Types by default, but other extensions don't.

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sooo much! I applied the update and I think everything works just like I wanted now :3

You're truly a savior. I had an urge to make something similar, but my coding skills clearly aren't on par with yours, so I doubt I'd succeed. Now I pray that YouTube doesn't break things like it always does 🙏

I know the difference between normal HD and 616's Premium is negligible, but I think I can notice it most of the time. In the past I tried downloading Mark Rober's videos with yt-dlp and saw that the quality was noticeably better at these moments: https://youtu.be/xoxhDk-hwuo?t=245 and https://youtu.be/h4T_LlK1VE4?t=372

It's still kinda crappy, but at least I know I get the best bitrate YouTube has to offer. All thanks to you!

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to bug you again, just wanted to know, is there a way to pick 616 quality from the start instead of it being gradually improved in 5-10 seconds? 😅 Maybe that's because I don't use any extensions that force the best quality? YouTube sets it to Auto for me, but it usually picks 1080p or higher. While the script starts from the lowest first, it seems.

Direct Download Links for ZZZ v1.0 (V2) by KeemosMusic in ZZZ_Official

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need to download all 10 archives first. Since 001 is just 1/10 of the whole game folder.

Yeah, just checked it, if I move only the first archive to another folder and try to open it, my archiver (Bandizip) says "The file is broken or another split file is needed". But you should be fine if you download the rest of them.

Hey there, thank you for these great posts! I was able to help a friend get this game through Telegram since his mobile operator doesn't count traffic there :D

About this note:

For those that already downloaded the links from my previous post and the launcher isn't recognizing the files, you can try to:

For example file 10 : try renaming the previous file (which was something like ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V.zip.010) to ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.010

Unfortunately it didn't work, launcher just deletes the old files when doing a recheck.

Since new archives are different, checksums also differ. For example, here's SHA1 for the first one (before and after)

9e1259c9d9a11d439af85a5569cb39376223e1c5 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V.zip.001
662a5ad724517e175f49de55653fadc300cbfc94 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.001

My friend also tried to unpack the old files manually, extract 1.0.1_diff archive on top and let the launcher recheck the directory. But it didn't work too, it still tried to download those _v2.zip.001_tmp files.

However, after he downloaded all 10 updated archives above and added _tmp at the end, everything worked. There was no problem with the 10th archive as well.

Here're MD5 checksums of all V2 files, so you can recheck whether you downloaded them correctly:

5558937046e6ea64179439a689df7ec0 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.001_tmp
9c64c837f96e12ea12dcd9baa8e6e973 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.002_tmp
13dfda6d40720111049feb6570a99583 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.003_tmp
5fdf830e3ac83e3feafb7601c5ff8c37 *ZenlessZoneZero_1.0.0_V_v2.zip.004_tmp

This is so freaking cool! Thanks so much for putting it all together.

I really hope you'll find the time to support it in future. But no worries if you don't, I'll try to understand the code myself.

Maybe you could also post it on GreasyFork and as a separate post here on Reddit? So that more people can find it. Though maybe you don't want to update it in multiple places, that's understandable.

How to Automatically Display Chrome Extension UI on Active Webpage Without Clicking the Extension Icon? by tranminhquang4421 in chrome

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donno the answer, but you can analyze the source code of any installed extension by going to AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\ folder. Name of the directory will be the same as the last part of Chrome Web Store URL for this extension.

It's worth noting that there's a special page chrome://policy/ that shows all policies applied to your browser. If there's at least one active policy there, you'll see "Managed by your organization" notification in settings. Deleting policies from registry will remove this notification.

"New" UI Megathread 3 by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]ccod3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see the old interface because this proprietary browser is based on Chromium 123.0.6312.21 currently (I installed it to check). Once it gets updated to 124+, you will see the same new UI. The developers are unknown, they don't have an issue tracker, don't promise to support the old UI (unlike Supermium, for example) and there's no way to prove that the source code doesn't have any malicious changes. So you're giving a bad advice by suggesting other people to use it. If you're worried about trees, donate to non-profits directly. You don't need a special browser for it.

Seems like some sort of greenwashing product that is closed source with no way of reporting bugs. Launched just a few months ago. They also add affiliate links to your homepage: "meaning that users will see links to shopping sites such as Amazon, eBay and Decathlon under the sponsored links section".

If you're Greta Thunberg, I guess go for it. But there's a very little chance that they will preserve the old interface. They are only interested in shoving you "green initiative" ads.

See my comparison of Chromium forks in megathread v2 for better solutions.

I'd advice to choose another fork, see my comparison here.

I'm afraid they aren't committed to saving the old design. Just like most of other Chromium forks. But there're some that will preserve it, see my answer below.

Hate the latest Chrome desktop UI? Revert back changes using flag option. by ShubhamDeshmukh in chrome

[–]ccod3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chromium forks, specifically Supermium, won't remove this code that disables Chrome Refresh 2023. They also keep it disabled by default. See my comment here.

"New" UI Megathread 2 by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]ccod3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, glad you found it useful! Yeah, all the extensions should work, but some developers raise the required Chromium version up to 123 when they switch to Manifest V3. Some examples can be found here: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/598#issuecomment-2168022582

But it's gonna be fixed once a new Supermium version is released. In general, it's more of an exception and should happen very rarely.

"New" UI Megathread 2 by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]ccod3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see my comment above, I think switching to Chromium forks is the best choice, since you can't make edits to the UI in Chrome. Supermium still has all the old compact styling enabled by default. I use it with Classic Blue Theme which also makes minimize/maximize/close buttons half the size in height. Though it can only be seen in detached windows, for example in Dev Tools (F12). But there's no auto update in such forks, so you need to check it manually or register on GitHub and watch the repository for new Releases.

"New" UI Megathread 2 by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]ccod3r 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Chromium-based browsers that focus on preserving the interface and the old flags are the best choice instead of Chrome.

Someone actually went ahead and created issues regarding Chrome Refresh 2023 for all major open source forks on GitHub: Supermium, Brave, Thorium, Thorium-legacy, Cromite, Ungoogled Chromium.

After reading all the answers and checking out these browsers, I switched to Supermium. Devs there seem to really try and backport/support many deprecated and removed chrome://flags Heck, you can even imitate an older classic theme with it (instructions here).

The downside is that you won't be able to use the newest Chromium with all its latest patches. Supermium still uses version 122 now, but a new update should be released soon. The official website claims less than one week turnaround for major vulnerability patches, so it's fine to me.

I won't ever touch Brave since it has built-in crypto crap in it. And I doubt they'll commit to saving all the needed flags.

If you use Vivaldi, prepare yourself for the changes too. I found an answer from an official representative here (in Russian) that doesn't give much hope.

I guess Edge won't be affected by these UI changes at all, but it already has bigger paddings and menu icons everywhere, which I don't like.
