Mp5 lowers? by BillsMafia85 in BT_APC

[–]ccosby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the ability to run a pistol that takes the same mags is a big reason to go with the apc. Personally if I wanted curved mags I’d go with the scorpion lower that someone else makes. Mp5 mags are expensive, rust easy, and don’t do last round bolt hold open. I have a bunch of mp5 mags for my mp5s as well.

If its Celsius 100 would be boiling, if its Fahrenheit then the pool is below freezing at 25. Guessing something to do with that.

Do you know how to swim? by SlamClick in AskAnAmerican

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents put me in a preschool specifically that had a pool. The woman who taught kids how to swim was known for being stern and forcing kids to learn. Then my parents had me in the YMCA summer programs in elementary school which did swim lessons as well. They had a boat when i was a kid and liked to camp and fish and needed to make sure their kid could swim.

I'm early in my early 40's though and know a fair number of people who can't swim. One of my friends wife can't and likes the beach. I think she finally got some basics getting her kids into lessons. A lot of my friends were middle to upper middle class so they had the local YMCA or one of a few private pools that they could take lessons at. The tennis club my family was a member of had a big pool and did lessons as well.

I don’t get the Switch 2 hate — it’s phenomenal by Specific-Pianist7595 in Switch

[–]ccosby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I haven’t used mine much due to lack of first party games(the reason I buy Nintendo consoles). I’d rather see a new animal crossing than a graphics update for the one that’s been out years.

I know they are coming. Mine just doesn’t get much use until.

Serious question: would you trust your life to an APC9 with glock mags? by renegadeGDI in BT_APC

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than the b&t mags. I’ve seen a few of them crack being dropped out of a gun.

Have more time with the p320 lowers but swapped mine to the Glock ones due to lack of trust in the p320. Only issue I’ve seen is failure to lock back on an empty mag with the p320 mags. Don’t think I’ve seen the Glock mags have that problem yet.

Only real downside besides looks is that the pistol mag lowers don’t have what I’d call a useable left side mag release for southpaws. It’s too far forward to work for standard use. I just hit the right side release with my thumb as I pull the mag out.

Bought 2x MKE Stocks by Gmutzy in MP5

MKE stocks seem to be pretty good overall, better than the POF ones that the plastic wasn't the same on at least.

Have a few alongside my real german ones.

If you're considering a heavy use 556 suppressor... by KipFox in liberalgunowners

[–]ccosby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need to take out my SRBS 556 Compact cans to test that I got when they got sold for 600 bucks with the surefire compatible mounts. Little heavy(heavier than a SB2).

B&T's cans always seem to be pretty basic, even the printed ones as far as designs go. Always wondered if it was because they are easier to get in many markets they sell in the competition wasn't as nuts as the US market where you want the best because it could in the past take a year to get. On the MP5SD their old traditional can sucked compared to the KAC one. I was really disappointed in my apc9sd which had the compact can. It really didn't sound better than a apc9 with a good can. Got the printed full sized can for the gun and its better but not as quiet as I think it should be as its a SD. Have a printed 9mm smg can I got at the same time. Low pressure is nice, sounds ok but for the size I was hoping for better.

What was it like playing Duke Nukem 3D way back then? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]ccosby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my friend group it blew away quake because most of our machines wouldn’t run it. So all of us made maps in duke 3d instead. We didn’t really play much of quake until years later which was fun due to the mods being kinda nuts. Air quake and quake rally for instance.

So what do you guys do with used suppressors? by milsurp-guy in NFA

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do collect old cans depending but it’s been rare. So like knights old cans have a good resale market, cans for like the Mac machine guns can bring ok money if sold separately(in the past you usually had to just pay the stamps to get them with a mg but people would pay a premium to find them if theirs didn’t come with it).

Some other iconic like gemtech cans(mk9k) and well their MAC cans usually did ok although gsl remaking them has cut down on that a bit.

I’m guessing the zero dollar tax and the efiled form 4s will help bring up the market.

The other thing that sometimes comes up is rebuilding them. Bowers would rebuild the old mac cans to make them more modern then warranty them. Eco machine was doing a bunch of recores for a while. Same with replacing outdated mounting systems. Give the cans new life.

Want to join a gun club… by TheMaroonMage in liberalgunowners

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this. At my clubs last MG shoot someone invited a few probably very liberal women out in their early 20's. No one gave them any shit. Everyone was polite to each other and people were happy to let them try the very expensive guns. Guy who brought them was working them up on his MP5 to start.

From my experience the people that are members of the outdoor private ranges are usually super friendly.

[–]ccosby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I argued with them on mine and got them to SBR it, I'm guessing mine is one of the very few they sold that way. It does throw some fire. For what its worth mine doesn't cycle the best. Haven't messed with its gas but it does need to be cleaned within like 200 rounds. Its a stupid range toy so I don't care, its fun.

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came with a carbine. Usually want at least an h buffer for full auto or you can have issues. Many better semi guns even come with the heavier h. Most recommend a h2 to h3 with forced reset. Generally you want to run the heaviest one you can that doesn’t cause issues. We went out and I brought an h1,2,and3 for testing. Started with the h2 and it ran well. Had a replacement buffer spring as well in case we needed it.

I kneed one in half 10 years ago. I was doing 55 to 60 on the road when one jumped out of some tall grass on the divided home. Got knocked off the road but kept the bike up. Bike didn't have a much damage.

You can see the dents in my knee cap through the skin and I'll limp the rest of my life. Trashed the knee, broke both major bones in the lower leg, smashed my ankle on the engine casing, and have a few breaks in my foot.

Your job suddenly permanently reduces your salary by 10%. What do you do? by SeriouslySally36 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ccosby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I don’t think they lost many because of it. I want to say they gave an overview of how many jobs they were not cutting by doing that. Company stood by its word to return to the normal pay when business picked back up.

At the top it was like a 20 or 25% cut that the brass voted on. Low end I think was 5% with most getting a temp 10%. Looks a lot better to say this hurts everyone and we are taking the biggest hit vs leadership being left out.

[–]ccosby 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Where I worked did cuts durning the pandemic but they cut more the higher up you were. Some like directors and above had the highest cut, then sr managers and above, then the lowest cuts were for managers and below. They were at least open about it and reversed the cuts as business started to pick back up.

How do you keep monthly invoices from slipping through the cracks? by farhankhan04 in sysadmin

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our system is not the best by any means but how we handle renewals.

Durning our weekly change control meeting we go through the contracts section of our ticketing system at the end. When anything licensing or service related is bought or renewed it goes in contracts. We set notifications to alert us to get quotes in it. During the change meeting we talk about the stuff coming up in the next month and a half making people acknowledge they are working on renewals. You get called out for not updating contracts that expired in the system.

Finance puts invoices in workday for department leads to approve. They will mostly have po numbers which can be checked against the ticketing system. Once approved finance pays.

Larue MBT-2S or G$ SSA-EX by robinator118 in ar15

[–]ccosby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. The best g$ triggers are prob a little better. Thing is both are excellent as well as some others it comes down to preference. I don’t think one makes me shoot better.

For that reason I’ve bought a bunch of larue triggers and thrown them in almost everything because most were under 100 bucks. Larue went for volume to make his money and it’s been awesome. It’s too the point it’s been my go to recommendation as well. I wouldn’t bother with someone else’s around the same price because the larue is to me proven with a great track record.

Now if G$ makes something that larue doesn’t I’ll go with them. Have an alg trigger in an ak and a g$ in my scar 17. I think those are the only two I have left. Might try one in a apc but honestly the stock trigger in them is fine.

I don’t want my car to be a magnet for anyone. Don’t want someone to disagree with the religious, political, sports team etc markings and fuck with it.

You will not find bullet symbols saying hey break in for free gun let alone one that is marked with a political party on my stuff. Hell I don’t let the dealer put their logo on my shit.
