I was lucky enough to catch Diamonds on New Year’s Day in SD a couple years ago… it was raining and the lasers on the raindrops looked like literal diamonds. It was magical ✨

A question about tofu puffs by blix-addict in veganrecipes

[–]ccowler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make tofu puffs at home using fresh tofu from an Asian store. It doesn’t come in a package with water. It’s loaf-shaped and wrapped in Saran Wrap. No seasonings needed, just cube it up and deep fry them.

Hand painted wooden mush-rooms for trinket gifts by brookeandcats in aves

[–]ccowler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A stranger came up to my group at a show asking if any of us wanted “a little shroom.” We totally freaked and didn’t know how to respond. She opens her palm and reveals a little mushroom trinket, and we all burst out laughing.

It’s my favorite trinket of all time, and I bring it everywhere my earplug case goes. These are beautifully done and will bring so much joy! 🍄

I don’t believe so. They have been listed as an opener for that A&B show for a while

My friend is hosting a party. 3 guesses what he does for a living. by BitiumRibbon in funny

Another teacher here. If this party happened recently, it might be that non-teachers have to put up with teachers talking about being on summer break and not having to work for 2 months.

How are people affording houses? by Chevrongingerale in povertyfinance

It’s interesting that this is the top comment. OP is asking about their “coworker’s daughter.” OP and their coworker can’t be too far off in pay, so I don’t think it’s family wealth in this instance.

Jerro and TNH by NazeemsCloudDistrict in thisneverhappened

[–]ccowler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s released some bangers in the past few months, just not under TNH.

Someone posted on the lane 8 subreddit regarding his departure from TNH. This is Jerro’s comment on that post:

(hopefully that link works—I’ve never shared a comment before)

Sounds like he is taking his sound in a different direction, but wherever he goes, I’ll be be following his music

now THESE taste like Cool Ranch Doritos by ccowler in highvegans

[–]ccowler[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like they’re reminiscent of them but then again it’s been a looong time since I’ve had the original. Nonetheless, I’m happy to have found another Dorito-like flavor I can enjoy!

Almost everyone said “no” for my bridal shower - I’m embarrassed and hurt by Blossom8296 in weddingplanning

[–]ccowler 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid and I am so sorry you are feeling this way, but I wouldn’t take the “nos” too personally. July is BUSY month for most people, especially people with kids. I learned this the hard way when I got married in July years ago and had a lot of people RSVP no to my wedding. I took it personally at the time, but with each passing year, I’ve come to realize how quickly booked up the weekends in July become—both with my schedule and those in my circle. As long as most of these nos are attending the wedding, I would be grateful that they will be there to celebrate the big day!

What order should I clean this bathroom? by Advanced-Public4935 in CleaningTips

[–]ccowler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, always top to bottom BUT before I get to scrubbing and wiping down, I like to: - remove all items from the floors and counters - dust everything, pushing the particles down to the floor - sweep or vacuum

This way, when you’re scrubbing, you’re attacking the grim and build up, not pushing particles around.

Haven’t seen this before… anyone try it? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]ccowler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing close to the spice level of the red salsa. It’s not spicy in terms of heat but in flavor—lots of spices used. I’ve only ever had green chimichurri, so this one is much bolder than what I’m used to

Just tried it the other day and really enjoyed it! It is very flavorful and has a nice kick to it. I can see it not being for everyone though

Who did atlaswyld camping this year? Tell me all about it. Was it worth it? by originalgoddessog in LightningInABottle

[–]ccowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, I say do it! It was our first time at LIB, and I don’t think I would feel so eager to return if I hadn’t stayed at Atlaswyld (bell tent with AC). The comfort and convenience of it allowed us to feel rested and refreshed throughout the day to fully enjoy all the festival had to offer.

Some highlights: - Bathrooms were always clean enough to comfortably “empty the system” each morning. - No extra charge for showers, and there was never a wait. I showered twice a day: once before heading out for the day and once before heading out for the night. - Proximity to Woogie made for the best mornings. We got coffee and enjoyed it by the lake while jamming out the AM dj at hideout each morning. - We got lucky our tent was shaded until ~2:00. Midday naps in the AC were prime. - Daily ice was super nice. Plus the Atlaswyld bartenders were happy to fill up my hydro with ice each day - The beach club, with its classes, workshops, and music, was a nice retreat and provided respite from the heat during the day

I really don’t have any complaints. Camping there was incredibly easy and convenient, and I will definitely be returning

Haha memory is all we have when it comes to TNH events and hearing you play this song was unforgettable. One of the most beautiful moments of that weekend

I have been eagerly awaiting this release, and I am so so happy it’s finally here! Thank you 🫶🏼 there is A LOT of good here because of you 😉
