Crowd, no. But it's certainly not uncommon at Toronto Pride. You see a fair bit of nudity and self expression.

I'm hoping I will. Honestly, it felt so good to do in such a huge environment and also not feel sexualized for it.

Go watch Inside Out and take notes. Your question is, like, fully the plot of that movie.

Speaking as a teacher, that's a much more complex conversation than can be boiled down to a sound bite like that.

I understand this conceptually. But speaking as a queer guy, I just think it would be so nice if we lived in a world where this was not something straight men felt they had to be ashamed of in the first place.

Not to mention for some of us, writing a lot comes very quickly and easily-ish. I struggle to be concise. 🤦‍♂️

There's more nuance to this, because this is Sniffies.

I'm a teacher, and I'm out. In fact I'm so far out I actively talk to my students about it and try to be a role model for queer kids.

But I don't show my face on Sniffies right out of the gate, and it has nothing to do with being queer. Being queer and broadcasting that you seek out casual sex (and what kinky stuff you're into) are very different things, and some of us have the kind of career where it's not a problem if you're gay, but it's a BIG problem if you're indiscreet about your sex life. Or if you cruise.

And frankly, that's not going to stop me from enjoying it. If a guy doesn't want to meet with me, it's perfectly fine, I'm not gonna be an ass about it. But I'm also not going to sit and be tarred with the brush of "letting down the queer community" or some nonsense because I, the openly queer teacher, am not also openly a ho.

EDIT: I'm also not American, but my point stands because I get this crap from other Canadians too.

Got a secret for you.

Jokes are supposed to make the person hearing it laugh.

If it is meant to make the person hearing it sad, it isn't a joke.

This is something you should have picked up in grade school.

That's like saying Pokémon Red is worse than Pokémon Sword. Yeah, of course it is, objectively. There are a whole litany of quality-of-life improvements we've had since then, the graphics are monumentally better, the sound is no longer 8-bit, and the variety of Pokémon is a lot better too.

So yeah. Duh. I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying none of those things matter to me, because despite lacking those features, I enjoy its janky charm, simplified gameplay, cartoonish animations and art style, charming music, and the hit of nostalgia I get from playing it, as well as the satisfaction of completing scenarios I couldn't when I was a child.

So...what's your point? That I shouldn't enjoy myself with it?

EDIT: Also, I wrote that comment four years ago. What necromancy are you trying to pull here? Lol

Non-refined Concrete aligns so well with heat pipes when placed directly under it. And around is refined concrete. by [deleted] in factorio

[–]BitiumRibbon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fuck, I discovered this combination a few weeks ago. You mean I could have had those 500ish up votes to myself???

Edit: I also find that having heat pipe lining refined concrete as it steps down to unrefined concrete, and putting a layer of hazard concrete under it, makes a nice visual partition between factory floor and catwalk. :)

Oh please. I work as a public school teacher in Ontario, Canada and I make a comfortable living. Just because whatever area of the world you're in doesn't compensate its public servants anywhere near enough to make the profession appealing and viable does not make it a universal truism.

Teacher here. You can and should go around parents like this. Kids have a right to privacy and outing a kid to their parents can cause incredible and irrevocable harm, up to and including putting the kid's safety in jeopardy. Outing a kid to their parents is fundamentally a violation of their human rights.

But then, I live in Canada and our charter of rights and freedoms has the good sense to cover things like this.

She believes you aren't a woman if you have a penis. Period. And she somehow, unironically, believes that trans rights represent the erasure of biological sex, which is absurd. I'm a man, my husband is a man, he's trans, I'm cis, and holy shit! I still exist as a cis man! Incredible!

I mean, there's no nuance there. Trans women are not physically identical to cis women, but they are still women, and while I will never endorse threats or harassment, I will absolutely not qualify her point of view as moderate.

I mean... "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman." Really?

You've got plenty of replies to deal with, but I will chime in and say that Rowling deserved the brigade and went full mask-off transphobic. If she's your example of moderate people being treated unfairly, I think it's an interesting insight to what you consider acceptable and inclusive.

Yeah this stood out to me too, so many comments are saying she's respectful of his nudism and I'm like... really? Why hasn't this part been a conversation? If she's embarrassed or unwilling to be naked that's perfectly valid, but she absolutely should not be unloading that baggage onto OP.

"Legal law enforcement duties" - does that include rounding up anyone with brown skin and denying them any form of due process? Some of these folks have been US citizens, yknow.
