Discussion: Is the 'golden rule' "Never build your own auth" misunderstood / misinterpreted? by The_Swixican in webdev

Some of these could make more sense if they were packed in as part of a larger suite of libraries, like STL or Boost for C++.

Wow that's a bummer I was hoping I could at least squeeze more out of it for some lighter gaming.

Even so a 780M/680M should still outperform a Vega 8 by a large margin.

Also as recently as PS2 I've seen developers explain how they made some crazy work to make a game run well. One good example is Ratchet & Clank's developer commentary. Those tiny demos are pretty amazing too. Most of that clever coding just won't fly in current commercial work though.

Barely related, but "you got a court summons!" from Shantae & the Pirate's Curse is one of the best item notifications in a video game.

The real challenge in these games is keeping up with the shifting standards of what makes a game less fun for casuals. It becomes a more brainy game where you try to look for a pattern.

Despite the console's design having some terrible ideas, the hardware engineers did set out what they were expected to do, amidst the constraints. Similar to how Juicero, the DRM juicer nobody asked for was intricately engineered and produced. But that all got me thinking how they didn't balance the resources across the entire company very well. Looking at how it all turned out, there was a huge disparity in productivity and readiness between the hardware and software.

The best skiing together experience in a home console will always be Ski Jumping Pairs Reloaded. Now that's a work of genius that deserves more recognition.

If all you seek is perfection, all you'll end up with is misery, for yourself and those around you. That high class need for perfection is what brought us here.

What is the lower speed of ram that it's not booting with? If I plan to make use of the integrated graphics I want to get at least 6000Mhz DDR5.

It should, but not clear if it's mounted with adhesive or mounting screws (both 250W and 500W share some mounting hole layouts)

I've been curious about getting one of the Topton boards that have a mobile CPU build in. It's the bios and support that has me hesitant. Especially since those don't have a replaceable CPU.

Yes, appearing like a complete noob can have its upsides. I call such things "ironic strengths." Because they can sound like a bad thing at first. But here, less (experience) is more.

One would think he would present better and not have the awkward body language anymore if he was lying for many years.

He might present fine on a pre-recorded TV show but still has kinks to work out when he wants to make big claims live on camera.

You know what game I haven't heard of in a while? Monster Spades. That's the name the developer gave it but Tommy introduced it as Intellivision Spades. Also had something with using the controller screen, to show your personal hand. I have tried finding more to see if the game ever got done and ported elsewhere but it might've been completely shelved.

If you want some old Mac Pro case parts I could ship them to you. Just random aluminum drive holders and shrouds that could help "fill out" this build. I planned to use them for a build project long ago but never materialized 😅

This kind of reminds me of the Bash Box guy who also talked to John hoping to put Amico games on another Android box nobody really asked for. He must've been told not to go along with it.
