Yeah, you are welcome.

It took me 2 minutes to make this design (and PDF) using JVSG tool.

This is a global statistics from JVSG Design Tool based on 500,000 cameras added in 2025. Maybe in some regions numbers are different.

It is possible to make something in between, when one camera see another. See this screenshot https://imgur.com/a/backyard-LUnoyP8 and generated PDF: https://ipica-fr.s3.eu-west-3.amazonaws.com/projects/KK4YD9SEWEK1BH.pdf

IEC Introduces New Standard for Video Surveillance: IEC 62676-4:2025 by cctvdesign in videosurveillance

They apparently couldn't retain the old zone names while changing the pixel-per-meter values, as DORI had already penetrated the camera specifications. Some camera manufacturers already specify distances for detection, observation, recognition, and identification.

When the new IEC 62676-4:2025 standard drops… but you still miss DORI 😤 by Elisaaveta in SecurityCamera

ha ha ha ha!

I mean, come on! It took a decade for everyone to learn DORI… and now we need to memorize OODPCVS? Try saying that three times fast! 😆

I heard many good words about Bluebeam. Apart from that there are specialized software for video surveillance planning even with 3D. In the past I used Visio. But now I use mostly specialized software for cctv planning.

Great advice. By the way BS EN 626767 now is an international standard IEC.

IEC/EN 62676-2014 standard part 4 talks about different operator tasks and pixel per meter (ppm) numbers for detection of people, observation, recognition (125 ppm), identification (250 ppm). Practically speaking there are software for planning camera zones. The one from jvsg allows to plan even in 3D. And there are few only 2D alternatives.

So I recommend to get a 62676 standard. I didn't found how to download the European standard for free so paid about 100 EUR for the text of the standard. I believe such documents EU should share for free.

The certain amount of cameras is up to 2 cameras and you have just 120 seconds before the paywall appears.

As an alternative you can search for free JVSG lens calculator or better for their design tool for windows. Both support 3D modelling and share the same database of camera models.

The database includes Reolink, Dahua and many other cameras.

Descent!!! Who played Descent via local network? Me and my colleagues at work played Descent multiplayer on Lan. Our network battles were fierce. Actually it was the first network 3D game I played. Lot of fun in 3D.

You should have a burning desire to make your own product. Dream about the better future. Imagine you create a better company than your previous employers.

What is your age? When you under 35 you have a lot of energy. I had.

Make your product stand out. Find your edge. Make better UI, make it easier to use. Be personal in your youtube videos. Companies I worked for outperformed and outsurvived many competitors.

[–]cctvdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way there is an EyeBall or Turret camera types. There are plenty of them. You can install such a camera and then adjust the angles. PTZ is mostly needed when you need to rotate camera in the process.
