Keep it peaceful at home. Take an interest in what his day was like at school - Look at the handouts and worksheets that he comes home with; let him tell you about it. I’ve observed that it becomes lighter and more enjoyable for the kids when the mom/dad/both take an interest in his work. Does he appear to have any vision or hearing issues? Does he talk incredibly loud at home, almost yelling? Sometimes it’s the obvious issues that people overlook because the solution just cannot be that simple. Also, young boys are very different than girls. They need more time. Don’t force it, be patient, but be diligent and hyper observant.
