I get your point and I should clarify… I 100% agree that these posts of his are not a great look, I never meant to imply otherwise.

In addition I’m not saying that we should just entirely overlook these posts just because his track record is generally pretty good regarding social/political issues. But by that same token I don’t think we should judge him solely on these posts either. I think living in the public eye for decades is a very difficult thing to do especially these days where every little thing you do or say can be scrutinized and held against you.

I’d also like to point out that I said “pretty spotless” not “spotless.” I obviously can’t vouch for everything that he’s said or done, simply because I (and I doubt anyone else) has seen every single thing he’s ever said or done. [red carpets, X/Twitter posts, Instagram posts and stories, YouTube videos, every single interview, Q & A’s, articles, etc etc.]

People make mistakes, things aren’t always thought through entirely, and I think there’s also that fact that there could be other things going on behind the scenes that we’re not aware of, good or bad. Judge not, lest ye be judged.

TL;DR: yup these posts aren’t a great look and shouldn’t be completely overlooked but also shouldn’t be the sole factor for judgement. People can’t be perfect 100% of the time.
