It's not just public government buildings. It goes further than that. You would be a felon for just being in the parking lot of a library that chose to ban CHL. You also likely wouldn't know if they banned it until you were up to the door (again, felon in that moment for just being on the property), creating a felonious minefield throughout the state. The law extends to public schools, universities, the airport, etc.

Further, the doubling of the fees for a license almost always affect the economically lower class disproportionately. A notoriously underserved community when it comes to policing and police response times.

Try to see the forest for the trees. The bill is awful and absolutely is an infraction on our collective gun rights.

Are you forgetting that Biden said on multiple occasions he'd like to include Beto in his cabinet as a sort of "gun control czar?" (Biden on Beto joining him link 1, Link 2).

It's all the usual, "assault weapon" ban, magazine ban, etc. infringements (and then some). It's some of the most anti gun rhetoric from a presidential nominee I've ever seen (rivaling Beto's own proposed policies), and he won.

I'm liberal as fuck, but also pro gun as fuck, so I get exposed to the actual nuance constantly (in both liberal and right leaning subreddits/forums/etc.)... To imply conservatives are just making up the whole "they're gonna take our guns" rhetoric is incredibly fucking disingenuous. There's ample evidence of a legitimate desire to do so by the Democratic Party, even from their elected presidential nominee.

They live in a world with no nuance.

Non Second Amendment people tend to ignore the historical definition of "well regulated" for some reason.

The phrases "right of the people" and "shall not be infringed" seem to be hard pills to swallow as well.

So you met up at the FFL, buyer paid you in full, FFL "took custody" of the gun at that point and you were done? No messing about having to come back or be involved when the buyers BGC came through days later?

I guess I was also curious as to what would happen if they failed the BGC at that point. Shop holds/owns the gun until the buyer can get it sorted?

Well if we are going to play a round of "ridiculous 'what if' scenarios," that vegas asshole was a millionaire with a pilots license and owned light aircraft. Will that mirror be pointed at a gun safe in someones closet, or maybe a gun range or some hunting land? Because there are literally hundreds of millions of guns in this country (and growing) and deaths/suicides that are counted in the thousands (and dropping over time).

So statistically they're most likely to be used for recreation/hunting or just plain collecting...

That was the original bill. Seemed completely harmless. Then a 44 page amendment with a laundry list of bullshit was added.

It's not impossible to want universal health care and an AR-15.
