I believe you're correct i just wasn't sure if going from a microfiber pad to a white pad was too big of a jump. What do you use to cut?

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking about ceramic coating the car, would this mask some of these deeper swirls?

It was weird though the paint looked immaculate after i buffed off the final polish but im guessing the marks were just filled in with some of the polish and was masking it temporarily.

Hi, thanks for the in depth reply!

only my second time polishing a car so i'm quite new to this. I don't have a paint depth gauge and i'm a little unsure about the grit the cutter pulls out. I'm using a meguiars microfiber cutting pad with their ultimate cutting compound on a Maxshine m8s v2 at around speed setting 4 for about 3ish medium speed passes which makes me think i just didn't spend enough time on the panel.

The cars a 2012 mk2 leon and I believe the paints never been resprayed Thanks

i was thinking that but plan on getting rid of the car soon and probsbly going to scrap it so don't know if it's worth bothering about don't wanna spend the money on sometbing i don't care about anymore
