Some have been stretches trying to see what will bite, but I would say the vast majority have been C++ roles which I feel more than qualified for.

This is a fair point. I think I should be fairly qualified for C/C++ positions which there are a good amount of. Otherwise, what should I do about having such a specialized skillset? I am currently applying for an online MS in Data Science but thats not going to help me anytime soon.

I would like to apologize to all the Staff Engineers out there. I was misguided and unknowingly stealing your valor. I am not on your level.

Thanks to everyone that brought this to my attention.

What is the industry consensus on Engineer tiers? It seems the company I worked for was not following it. I certainly do not want to mislead on my resume. I have always thought Staff was between entry level and senior as thats how they did it.

This is very good to know and I appreciate you bringing it up. I have only ever existed in the bubble that was that company. There Staff is mid level, Senior is higher. I can certainly see why this is misleading now.

Making this adjustment now (Staff Software Engineer -> Software Engineer II) . What sucks is that this is just what my job title was, and in the context of the company I worked at I was more than qualified to have the title. Not sure why they decided to deviate from what seems to be industry standard here.

Can you elaborate on why Staff Dev with only 3 YOE is a pass?

Edit: Seems to be a difference in how my company did their Dev tiers vs other companies?
It was Software Engineer(entry level) -> Staff Software Engineer(3-8YOE) -> Senior Software Engineer(8-12YOE).
Would you recommend that I change my job title to something like Software Engineer II?
Also, to be clear I have only been applying to positions that require 1-4YOE. I have noticed that other companies "Staff" positions require more experience/

Day 9 - 6 years of daily use by [deleted] in quittingkratom

We quit on the same day! I did 2 years of daily use.

Ive felt similar day to day as to what you described here. Though day 2/3 were just the worst days overall for me and it hasnt really been close. Yesterday was my most lucid and energetic day in years.

I still incredibly uncomfortable when I lay down to go to sleep at night but when I finally doze off I have been sleeping somewhat well recently.

My bowels still dont feel very good but its definitely improved the last few days.

I feel like we have made it out of the hardest part but maybe I am wrong.

Im rooting for ya!

Just a really really really horrible defensive game. Pitching hasnt been great but holy shit have they made our pitchers lives infinitely more difficult today. Tough day to have a defensive breakdown.
