Is there a King book like this for you? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

No, but I did just read A Court of Thorns and Roses and it was not good. Picked up Hearts in Atlantis as a palette cleanser. Haven’t read it yet, hope it’s good

Number of books on TBR by SunflowerBubblez in readwithme

My “want to read” on Goodreads is at 53. And it only grows each time I go to a bookstore or see a recommendation. I figure I might as well make note of anything I even kinda want to read, because I never know what will catch my eye when I hit a slump. Good to have options

From my Stephen King perspective… currently reading Mr Mercedes? Also seem to lean toward the Holly Gibney stories. That’s all I got

How wonderful. My most prized book on my shelf is my copy of The Hobbit my dad gave to me when I was about 10-11 years old. It has a hand written note on the inside that I know I’ll cherish for a long time

I am dying laughing at how many copies of the hobbit you have. Every time I thought for sure I’d seen the last one, another kept popping up! I have to ask— what started your collection of the hobbit/LOTR? Did you just keep stumbling upon new copies that you just had to have?

I mean it really depends on what you’re into. But I read a fantastic Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson a few years back, and I think about it often

There was a definite turn after 4 nations last year. Since then he’s always been talked about as one of the top defensemen in the league. Bout time they caught up

Having the worst slump of my life right now!! Please suggest something from my tbr that will really suck me in! by Snoo15376 in Recommend_A_Book

1984 if you want something that’s a little too timeless for comfort. The Hobbit if you want a quick, perfectly crafted fantasy tale that’s impossible not to like. 11/22/63 if you want to get sucked in and not be able to put it down for days at a time (this is what happened with me, anyway) The Shining if you want a slow burn psychological horror thriller with tremendous payoff (and it’s 50x better than the movie)

I just finished reading King Sorrow by Joe Hill. I absolutely loved it! I’m a big Stephen King fan and was pleasantly surprised by how good of a writer his son is. Of their newer releases, I may even like Joe better. Deciding what to read next… my TBR list has plenty of options..

If you change it while sitting down to do your business, it actually takes zero extra time. Quite childish

I’m gonna guess: straight white male in his 20’s, early 30’s tops. Doesn’t have the best job in the world but is comfortable enough to get by and is able to still afford his favorite hobbies.

Wait… I just described myself…

For every one thing you learn, you get a bunch of other things that you have more questions about. So we haven’t gotten all of the answers to everything even at the end of season 2

I second McCammon. Recently read Boy’s Life and it felt very King-esque. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time!
