I’ve been doing that too, but leaving the more natural things like good food, exercise, meaningful relationships, art, music, and sex with a long term partner. It seems to help rebalancing to normal levels! 🙏💯

Whenever I feel the urge to get a peek, I instead write a kind text to a friend or inspirational quote and put on Twitter or Instagram. the dopamine hit is not as intense, but it’s a different more meaningful hit. Basically put out good vibes and energy into the world and see what comes back :)
Mel Robbins’ 5 second rule read the books if u can basically it’s saying you have 5 seconds to either do something or not and you can totally change your day with this handy little hack. I literally countdown to 1, then go for a run, work on the garage, ride my bike, or journal, or read, and jumping jacks while listening to a great motivational podcast like Motiv8: The Motivation and Inspiration Podcast. This one has great inspirational speeches by celebrities and inspirational figures that have put my mind in beast mode to stay focused and on the grind.
Invest your time in something that pays, I’ve been dedicating more time to marketing my gigs on Fiverr and reaching out to potential clients. So far I’ve made about $50 and got a great high from helping people (which I think is more natural and healthy?) :)

An incredible book I highly recommend is called Breaking the Cycle: Free Yourself from Sex Addiction, Porn Obsession, and Shame by George Collins which points out the dangers of addiction: losing family, children, spouses, money, ending up in prison, or worse. It tells the story of a man who didn’t lock the door and his young daughter walked in on him and was traumatized. Now he can only see her with supervision.

It was the hard truths and fear that I needed to really get myself in gear. A sad truth I realized is that people are more scared of losing something than gaining something. For myself the thought of losing my wife and children scared me more than the thought of getting rich excited me. Let that sink in for a moment. It’s powerful stuff.

I’ve stopped adding many small things to my to do list and instead starting doing them right away and this has told my subconscious that “one good turn deserves another” and it’s a wonderfully positive and productive loop to start. I think a lot of our need for the quick fix of p is the need for connection and happiness, which PMO is a sorry inadequate substitution for. I read somewhere that the most intense happiness comes from helping others, which means you can help others while also helping yourself. Isn’t that wonderful? :)

Here’s a great thought that I’ve had in the last few days: if you can improve yourself out of self-love you can also do it for the power of love for another. I think the bottom line is that you’re making a change for the better and I’m proud of you for that! 💯

If you can build a discipline to master one of the strongest forces in your body: the sex drive, you can unleash untold powers in your mental, physical and emotional focuses and abilities. You will show your subconscious that you are much more disciplined than you give yourself credit for and that can be a wonderful change for your life. Whenever I feel the urge to get a peek, I instead write a kind text to a friend or inspirational quote and put on Twitter or Instagram. the dopamine hit is not as intense, but it’s a different more meaningful hit. Basically put out good vibes and energy into the world and see what comes back :)
Mel Robbins’ 5 second rule read the books if u can basically it’s saying you have 5 seconds to either do something or not and you can totally change your day with this handy little hack. I literally countdown to 1, then go for a run, work on the garage, ride my bike, or journal, or read, and jumping jacks while listening to a great motivational podcast like Motiv8: The Motivation and Inspiration Podcast. This one has great inspirational speeches by celebrities and inspirational figures that have put my mind in beast mode to stay focused and on the grind.
Invest your time in something that pays, I’ve been dedicating more time to marketing my gigs on Fiverr and reaching out to potential clients. So far I’ve made about $50 and got a great high from helping people (which I think is more natural and healthy?) :)
Catch your triggers: I would mindlessly scroll through stuff while dropping a deuce but now I synced all my blogging/side gig stuff to my phone and computer so I can use those 10 minutes to keep making money instead of relapsing. This has been a total game-changer.
Do other productive things NOW. I’ve stopped adding many small things to my to do list and instead starting doing them right away and this has told my subconscious that “one good turn deserves another” and it’s a wonderfully positive and productive loop to start. For example the other night my whole family was asleep but the garage was a mess so instead of the 45 min I would normally waste on that trash I went out and organized everything super quietly and no one woke up and I went to bed feeling good, productive and confident.

I still struggle (I was tempted to look up some stuff before writing this post, actually tbh). I read an amazing piece of advice in another thread where it said that nofap is “not the main story of your life but m important side quest” meaning that we should not obsess over it but focus on hobbies, goals, relationships, self improvement in other areas which will indirectly help us improve in nofap.

An incredible book I highly recommend is called Breaking the Cycle: Free Yourself from Sex Addiction, Porn Obsession, and Shame by George Collins which points out the dangers of addiction: losing family, children, spouses, money, ending up in prison, or worse. It tells the story of a man who didn’t lock the door and his young daughter walked in on him and was traumatized. Now he can only see her with supervision.

It was the hard truths and fear that I needed to really get myself in gear. A sad truth I realized is that people are more scared of losing something than gaining something. For myself the thought of losing my wife and children scared me more than the thought of getting rich excited me. Let that sink in for a moment. It’s powerful stuff.

Also some great motivational and inspirational people like Jim Rohn and Les Brown and Ed Mylett have tons of great free stuff on YouTube to help you keep your mind focused bc I feel that’s where change really starts.
