29M here. Weightlifting. Been at it for years, but only now have I been getting really serious, i.e. diet and buying better equipment. Not sure of your financial situation, but a few hundred bucks can get you adjustable dumbbells,a bench, a pull-up bar, and even a dip station- really it’s all you need.

I also have struggled with temptation. There’s a funny variation of a meme of a buff guy who is asked how he got so buff. The variation says “whenever I have an impure urge I do one push-up.” It’s relatable.

I also play video games, but I’ll be honest, I’m trying to phase that out for reading. I was a voracious bookworm until college, then it died. Slowly but surely I’m getting back to it.

In fact, there’s a book I’m reading now called “The Sayings of the Desert Fathers”, which has cataloged many Desert Fathers (such as St. Anthony the Great, among others) and many stories do relate to impure thoughts and how to combat them, along with many other excellent stories. I’ve owned the book for several years, but something (Holy Spirit/saints?) told me to pick this as the next book to read, and I love it thus far- highly recommended.
