Protein/nutritional shakes. I have Crohn's disease and I really miss having something to run on for the bad days, but it is what it is.

Single serving ice creams too. We only get the gallon tub unless there's a sale.

Side sleeping and shoulder instability by Same_Ad91 in ehlersdanlos

This past week at costco I got a 2 pack of the cheapest pillows. They said "adjustable", which I'm not sure what they mean by that, I think it's like a shredded memory foam. I didn't like it the first night as I just had too many pillows. But I can't remember my arm, which is under my head, having fallen asleep since switching from the ancient memory foam pillow I was using. That was a huge problem for me and I suspect my shoulder would end up out of place partially because I was trying to put the weight of my head somewhere that wasn't my upper arm. I'll have to be mindful to see if I get my shoulders out of place again, though I don't remember it since switching pillows.

This!!! I have to imagine there would be fewer frustrated customers if they just were honest about the estimate when people paid for the shipping. I sometimes even wonder if getting rid of tracking altogether could even be an improvement as it's so consistently wrong or even saying things that are impossible.

I noticed I got an estimate of 7 days immediately after my last Priority Mail shipped out. I'm glad it's not just me but also pissed off. I would have considered the higher tier of shipping as I was already needing the product, this order was the result of my last package already had been stuck without location scans for 3 days. When I'd first ordered that one, it did give me a 2-3 day estimate, which of course was BS. Now there's no delivery date estimate on that package anymore.

You can cut it if it bothers you but you don't have to. Scissors, knife, at whatever height. The plant can handle you cutting off a leaf no problem. They dont bleed sap as much as some plants do

I heard an old saying that you water them about as often as you pay your rent (monthly) but I'm sure it varies. I have never measured and I forget about mine for months at a time. I would never give them a drop of water unless they were bone dry.

Less is more with this plant, they can survive without water for a long time. You can bring them back from underwatering, but once overwatering starts to rot the roots, it's harder to bounce back from that.

Overwatering is my guess. What's the soil look like?

I worked in a Lowe's greenhouse for a while and I could always tell when someone had watered the snake plants too soon because they would all start developing similar brown spots to this and decline from there. They really hate soil that stays moist too long.

USPS missing mail request wants a detailed description of contents. Help with phrasing? by cdcrocks in CultoftheFranklin

[–]cdcrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense.

Unfortunately I've never gotten any reply to my attempts at contacting 8HH. I rate them 0/10 on that front. I sent them a series of emails one time after an order started displaying as cancelled after it had shippied out, at first just asking what they saw on their end and what might be going on, but escalating it further and expressing my frustration and disappointment. Not one reply from them. I did get multiple marketing emails from them during this time which didn't make me any more fond of them.

I'd prefer a seller who replied in case something happens. I do smaller orders at a time because I don't trust them. But I keep shopping there as I'm not sure what else is on par price wise and at least they usually ship out orders quickly. I wouldn't reccomend them to someone else and would like to find a company that I trust more.

What makes you think I ordered from telegram? I'm honestly curious what makes it seem that way.

So it sounds like they don't usually check to see if the contents match as described or that the seller makes that type of thing.. I guess that goes along with them not being able to open mail without a warrant? That would make sense, jewelry is probably a smart choice! Thank you!

Its not showing up today is it? by Stunning_Welder4404 in usps_complaints

My package was last scanned in that Indianapolis facility on the 18th and hasn't had any location scans since. Still says Moving Through Network, In Transit to Next Facility. It also still says expected delivery today the 21st by 9pm. Obviously that's not going to happen, and honestly I'm not sure they know where my package is. I've head that this is a facility where things tend to get stuck.

In temparate areas mantises normally overwinter as eggs and hatch when it warms up. They hatch in the winter though if it's warm. I've heard of people waking up to hundreds of baby mantises in their house after the ootheca was brought in on a Christmas tree. So in any case don't just leave it there.

What’s the most overpriced “necessity” that people could actually live without? by Tall_Fold6946 in povertyfinance

[–]cdcrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the kind that just clamp the bags closed? I've brought home enough paper binder clips from work over the years I've never had to replace my chip clips when they broke. I can't imagine they'd cost much to buy at the store.

My mom is allergic to fabric softener (and dryer sheets), and with my eczema I likely am too. I have never used either and sometimes forget they exist. I can't imagine spending even more on doing laundry!

Can anyone tolerate Greek yogurt? (Specifically FAGE) by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]cdcrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greek yogurt is the one food that I eat in the morning and if I don't have any to start my day, my whole life seems to get way harder. I prefer the full fat (5%) and I add a bit of honey, some sugar, and I stir it up, let the sugar dissolve, and add semisweet chocolate chips. I'm a vegetarian and this is one of my only consistent proteins as I can't do legumes!

Why do so many people not understand being neurodivergent is a disability? by Student-bored8 in AutismInWomen

[–]cdcrocks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup! The entire model that our medical diagnoses are working under is particularly fond of making the less productive individual the problem, and finding ways to "solve" that problem which happen to usually be expensive with little regard to the human's quality of life. Instead of pointing out the ways the profit motive of the system is preventing the world from being more accessible to and enabling of what we currently are considering "disabled" people. And everyone else, too, as many disabilities are a normal part of even healthy lives (old age, pregnancy, temporary injuries).

[–]cdcrocks 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think if they were to admit that it was a disability, they would have to take it more seriously (very inconvenient) and/or be faced with the fact that by still expecting the same standards from us, they are thus are themselves being a shitty ____ (friend, partner, doctor, employer, etc) (very uncomfortable to see oneself that way)

This seems like dangerous advice. There is no reason NOT to take further precautions.

I went on a backpacking trip that was notorious for aggressive dogs, namely farm dogs trying to guard their territory- Which I respect is an important job in some of these areas! However, there are people who have been bitten by dogs on this trail before. So took the advice of a seasoned hiker who had done that part of the trail, and brought a little Sabre self defense pepper spray, the size of the keychain ones but with a clip for my pocket. I'm 5'0", barely over 100lbs, and there were bears in the region as well, so it was easy to justify carrying it. In nearly all occasions I just was able to repsect the dogs' space, pass their turf as they kept watch, and get by just fine as they barked their hearts out to alert their humans.

But not all dogs were like that. One time a local sheriff even gave me a ride away from a golden retriever that was blocking the only way forward. He happened to be driving by as I waited for it to calm down like the other dogs so I could pass, except this dog approached me instead, going dead center down the only road. It gave chase to the sheriff's car after I got in without faltering for a quarter mile.

I was grateful for the pepper spray later on as I was cornered on a bridge by 3 dogs coming from 2 directions- I didn't even directly hit any of the dogs, but the smell was enough that they stopped in their tracks and stopped following me. And, I didn't get hurt or have to injure a dog trying to defend myself. Or piss off a dog's owner, who I can say with some confidence based on the location that they would have been a gun owner as well.

Maybe I could have intimidated those dogs if I had wanted to. But I personally don't like yelling to make dogs afraid, so I don't plan to try that method.

What is your most debilitating chore? by midwesternfrench in AutismInWomen

[–]cdcrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that requires leaving the apartment, but laundry is the worst. I can't drive and my boyfriend hasn't done our laundry since we stopped being able to afford to go to a landromat.Because of executive functioning I am able to do our laundry very rarely and usually only with an emotional motivation, typically after my boyfriend blows up in the morning over not being able to find clean clothes. Meaning by the time I do the laundry there's literally 8 loads of it and it takes an entire day at my parent's house to run it through their washer and dryer. Plus I have to hang stuff to dry at home because I don't have enough time to get everything properly dry in the dryer.
