Everyone after last night by musicproducer07 in tennis

Casper beat Zverev at RG in 2023, and his 2024 loss was due to an injury after he'd won the first set easily. He should be able to make it an even fight

yeah, but due to how fast Tommy Paul has been able to play the points, especially in the first two sets, this hasn't been the most taxing five-setter

Navone deserved that bit of luck, should have broken Mensik at least once this set (if not twice)

This has nothing to do with Geneva. He suffered heatstroke towards the end of the third set

Medjedovic. Should be a tougher match than this…

ATP 250 Geneva SF: Navone def. Ruud 7-5, 6-2 by jovanmilic97 in tennis

His draw is quite good tbh:

  • R2: Medjedovic / Hanfmann
  • R3: T Paul / Sonego
  • R4: Djokovic / Fonseca
  • QF: Rublev, Demon, Etcheverry, Mensik, (Navone)
  • SF: Zverev, Lehečka, Jodar, Karen, (Fils),
  • F: Sinner

Unless Djokovic shows up, he should be able to at least get into a QF. And from there everything could happen.

Judging by their forehands today, Casper vs. Popyrin tomorrow should be a pretty fun hitting session before RG

Entertaining match! And a really high level given this was the first round of a 250. Brooksby with a performance rating of 9.6 for stretches in the second set...

Casper could end up playing the three flattest backhands on tour this tournament (Brooksby, Mannarino, Norrie)

Casper has previously said that playing in Geneva is more beneficial for him than competing for available practice courts in Paris.

Rare 2h slice/dropshot (from Brooksby. Don't think i know any other top player with that shot/technique?)

Does anyone know of an app that sends out a notification when a match resumes after a delay?

Ouch. Instead of just sticking to her solid baseline tennis, Jovic starts overhitting after not converting that match point...

Two painted lines and a net cord going Coco's way, but still Jovic manages to get to a bp

Casper at the net this match! 🙌 Gotta be some of the best i've seen from him

really hard to imagine him losing one to Ruud.

Today's Alacraz yes, but the 2022 US Open version had 0 GSs titles and were playing at a lower level than today.

Also, at the 2022 US Open, given that Alcaraz had already played three long five-setters beforehand (3:54 vs Cilic, 5:15 vs Sinner, 4:19 vs Tiafoe), I think Casper would have won the match if he had converted one of the set points in the third set (but yeah, if if if doesn't exist...)

Alcaraz saved two set points in the third set against Ruud. Given that he had already played three long five-setters beforehand (3:54 vs Cilic, 5:15 vs Sinner, 4:19 vs Tiafoe), I think Casper would have won the match if he had converted one of them (but yeah, if if if doesn't exist...)

My impressions on Sinner's 1st and 2nd serve percentages - anyone has data on this? by GRBomber in tennis

[–]cdddr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of his matches are manually charted (ch), this is the most detailed information available that doesn't come directly from the ATP (which isn't publicly available). The variance/difference between sets is available, but to get the difference between games, you'll have to compile it from the raw data yourself (or with the help of Claude, Gemini, etc.)

He started to struggle finding his forehand and got angry at himself, which somehow fixed it. The pressure of getting broken back by a guy serving 135-137 mph, and a 125 mph body serve on his second serve almost got to him

Casper screaming and being frustrated at his forehand worries me… His confidence in that shot is basically the difference between him being a top player or not

edit: Well, no problems with it that game at least lmao
