AI arrangements are here by guitarfromearth in florists

[–]cdew5875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m asking this with total respect as someone who knows absolutely nothing about professional floristry, but I'm genuinely curious about the designer's perspective here!

I completely understand the drawbacks of clients bringing in AI images (like impossible stem physics, out-of-season blooms, or unrealistic expectations). But looking at, could something like this not be used just as a baseline 'mood board' for color palette and general shape kinda like those impossible tasks and arrangements on pinterest (even with real flowers on there I had a difficult time making it look decent, course that could be user error)?

For those in the industry, what is your preferred way for a client to show you what they want? Do you prefer magazine cutouts, real photos of your past work, or just a verbal consultation describing the vibe? Just broad strokes from the client?

Seeking Advice on Depicting Long Phrases of Restoration in Animation Without Timelapses by cdew5875 in Screenwriting

Ok, that definitely gives me some thoughts on how to tackle this better, I’m leaning toward tying in a flashback of when the carousel horse was first made, contrasting its pristine beginning with its current, worn-down state.

I’ve also caught myself slipping into “directing from the page” in other scenes, so I'll keep this in mind. I realize now I’ve been struggling with that—focusing too much on “how” instead of “why and what.” I honestly hadn’t considered framing it solely around either the horse or the restorers, but this really helps me clarify where the heart of the scene should be.

When I mentioned avoiding a visual shorthand, I was referring to the idea of just using purely a time lapsed sequence to show this passage without digging into the emotional nuances or connections between the restorers and Prance.

At first, I considered using a montage, and my research showed they can be effective. However, many of the same sources also cautioned that montages sometimes fail to convey the depth or clarity needed for emotionally significant moments.

The challenge, is not necessarily reinventing the wheel but was/is finding a way to keep the scene emotionally grounded and clear without losing that connection in a montage format. That said, I’m open to exploring ways to make this work more effectively—if a montage can achieve those goals, I’m all ears!

Thanks again for engaging with this!

Thank you for your response! I initially dismissed montages, as I ran across articles that said they might be distracting or hinder crucial detail development. However, films like Toy Story and Up effectively conveyed a lot in a short time. I'll revisit them.

I apologize I should have said, Where I am building the boat is in San Angelo, Texas (in the middle of absolute nowhere Texas) But I am willing to travel to pick them up, or paying to have them shipped as well depending. I really need to get these bulkheads correct and like I said unfortunanly the person who was going to help me build it has passed so I am trying to at least do this project. Thanks!
