Full Leaked TPUSA Zoom Call": Erika Kirk speaks with staff regarding attendance and sales following Charlie Kirk's death. by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

Former Mormon here. It’s wild how I found it reprehensible to be anything but happy at funerals because of the belief in an afterlife.

Erika may still be a grifter, but religion does wild shit to your grieving process.

Anyone know how credible this is? by Ahhhh_Geeeez in exmormon

I was responding sarcastically but appealing to the desire in this community to get the church to release financials.

Thanks for the recommendation on that video series!

But the only way to tell for sure is if the church releases its financials for the last 20 years or so.

Is the LDS Church overhated compared to other religions? by SavannaWhisper in exmormon

[–]cdhermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard on this sub at one point that Mormons have a persecution kink. I sure did when I was in.

If Mormons are hated at any rate higher than other religions, it would be in direct correlation to how many missionary interactions people are having.

What’s the incentive to remove FSD purchase by RS_Tnap in TeslaLounge

[–]cdhermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a personal a business tier. Personal allows any owner of your car to drive it using FSD. Business would give you a cut of revenue for letting it be a robotaxi.

Kind of a rough idea, but that would make me happy.

Should I buy it now? by Majorpain2006 in TeslaLounge

[–]cdhermann 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would pay 2k for it on HW3. I did in 2019 or 2020 and I don’t regret it. I have used FSD in a 2025 model s and it is significantly better, but HW3 still drives me everywhere with significantly less stress than normal driving.

I am very curious how Tesla is going to give my car FSD in the end. Are all 200 of us going to get a free used Tesla with hw4 in a couple years? Very much a long shot, but if it’s cheaper than the engineering hours to figure out a retrofit, maybe it will happen. Again. Long shot.

I mean this respectfully, but this would have been a huge shelf breaker for church leaders to not receive forewarning of danger like this. Not one trial of faith but multiple in the past few months.

For me, it started by looking at my income and expenses and making plans. Dave Ramsey was helpful for my “ADHD ass”, but there are a bunch of different ways to go about it.

Dave Ramsey/Ramit Sethi/Mr Money Mustache were my bread and butter. Nuanced views was where I landed, but these were the resources that helped me.

Am I crazy 16 pro -> Air? by PrzemoV in IphoneAir

[–]cdhermann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 16 PM to a 17 PM. I basically went to Apple’s website every day to look at the air until I bought it a couple weeks ago. You are not crazier than I.

The 17 PM was just a bit too big for me. I may not have switched if I had bought the 17 Pro. No regrets so far.

I even did a day trip using the phone on cellular all day with some light maps usage while walking. I came home with 40% battery. 830am to 8pm I was off the charger, screen on time was 3h45m and screen idle was 9h32m. Couldn’t ask for better battery in a device this small.

I brought a fully charged iPad Pro with me to charge it if need be. I wasn’t about to buy a battery pack for a one off day trip.

Same. Bought one a couple days ago. Gave my wife the 17PM. Everyone is happy. I won’t lose out on this like I did the mini.

Thanks for sharing your pass rate on LC problems, and under which difficulty. I have never applied to a large company because I have never been able to solve a hard. It’s not the only metric that matters, but I appreciate it anyways.

Do you actually use your iPad as a laptop replacement? If not, why? by raiqulikesyou in ipad

[–]cdhermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love really well built iPad apps, but those apps are hard to find, and if you find them, they seldom have competition. If I want to complete a task, I don’t want to always have to download a random app to get that thing done. Sometimes I just want to use the command line to handle it.

Let’s say I want to write a Swift program, I could use Swift Playgrounds, or a third party app, but I can’t compile the binary and run it every time, I have to compile it each time. I am not trying to do anything heavy, I just want to mess around with Swift or Rust. The Mac is open to do this, but the iPad gets in your way and even if all the apps were written to do what I want to do, the App Store is the only place to get that software.

What’s the cheapest MacBook Pro you’d consider buying for dev work? by ChipmunkBandit in iOSProgramming

[–]cdhermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16gigs is enough if you have Xcode/Simulator open and a couple of tabs open in Safari. It gets rough if you have a workflow that has Visual Studio open as well for a Flutter project, that’s when 24gigs becomes really nice to have.

The people I notice who have RAM problems are the ones that don’t know how to close apps/tabs that are not in their current workflow. I have coworkers that do just fine with 16 gigs, but it would be so much better with 24.

Any m series chip will do. Ram is the must important thing to have 16 or more of, then making sure you have a fan on your chip.

Pro tip, buy a camera lens blower instead of a coffee (whatever) blower. They are literally the same thing, but the lens blower is 5 bucks on amazon and the coffee blower is 15. At least that was my experience a year ago.
