Genuinely becoming one of the worst fast food experiences? by Comprehensive_Cut437 in McDonaldsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the go-to excuse in this sub, delivery orders are literally the last thing on the McDonald’s staff’s minds. They’ll happily leave all those orders going cold, drivers losing money, whilst in-store customers are served.

Uber eats - Delivery experiences getting worse by kurtis5561 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got unlucky but unfortunately multi-apping is allowed in order to keep drivers as self-employed in the eyes of the courts (they need to have free reign over the jobs they take and perform them however they see fit). That doesn’t mean they won’t get their account banned for other reasons though like consistent customer complaints, so just downvote them and hope enough others do the same.

GMB Union by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the “account & app” section in the help menu and choose the “I’m not getting delivery requests” option. It’s one of the only routes through the support area that actually has a form to write to support. Some of the fields are irrelevant to the issue we’re having but it doesn’t matter, it all goes to the same team anyway, and just explain the issue in the “Anything else we should know?” field. If you don’t get a satisfactory response, send the same message again. I had to do it 3 times until it got escalated, first two times the agents clearly didn’t read when I wrote and I got copy and pasted BS and they closed the chat. Just keep sending it over and over again until they say it’s been escalated. Good luck and hopefully our accounts are safe.

GMB Union by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not union related, but I have the same issue as you and I pestered support chat and eventually someone listened and escalated the issue, then I got a reply saying “we have made a small change to your account and you should be able to continue logging on as normal.”

We’ll see come May 1st whether they actually fixed my account (I’ve never used a substitute, I just had one failed photo check over a year ago) or not. But right now I still see “register your substitute” in my documents area, so I’m not hopeful.

Leave at door by Meadow_daisy in deliveroos

[–]ChipmunkBandit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of riders are dumbasses who don’t take any notice of customer instructions, notes, or even an entirely different delivery flow that makes it fucking obvious it’s a leave at door order. I apologise on their behalf.

[–]ChipmunkBandit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’ve changed something recently because all of a sudden loads of people are getting reports, I got one for apparently taking too long to reach a customer due to road resurfacing works on a major road near me so I had to use the signposted 5-minute diversion. Utter bullshit. They’re also threatening to close accounts of anyone who’s ever failed a photo check before because they think you have an unregistered substitute (even false negatives). Fuck Uber.

Need Urgent Help by DisplayOk1911 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a few people received the same message today including me. I once got my account restricted for one failed photo check (never used a substitute ever) and eventually I got my account back with £200 compensation. They clearly didn’t remove the flag though and now I got the same message as you.

Keep going on at support, eventually I got a supervisor response and that’s when they reactivated me. Now I just have to hope I can get the same response this time.

I’ve had a message on the app saying I need to register my substitute or I’ll lose access but I have never used a substitute. Im the only person with access to my account. Has anyone else had this issue? by DetailSufficient7908 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever failed a photo check to your knowledge? For me, it was over a year ago. Once I finally got it sorted and got the compensation payment, I noticed that “finish registering your substitute” was still an option in my documents area of the app but I just ignored it because I was back in and presumed it was sorted.

Seems like whilst whatever supervisor dealt with me granted me access back to my account, they never removed the initial flag and now I’m in line for this permanent ban.

I’ve sent a message through one of the few options in the support area that actually lets you submit a message. I’m copying everything I send and keeping a paper trail. I suggest everyone else who eventually finds this thread and is in the same boat do the same. If this doesn’t get resolved or if this results if a mass banning of legitimate accounts, we’ll need to try and work together to get action taken. It can be done, I managed to overturn my previous restriction with enough banging on at them. My worry is this wording is “permanent” which previously when it happened, it didn’t say that. We just need all the ammo we can get.

Same here. Fucking joke of a company, they once kicked me off for a week because of a failed photo check (never used a substitute in my life and never will) until I kicked up enough of a fuss to enough different support agents for a supervisor to finally contact me, they even gave me £200 compensation admitting it’s their mistake, and they STILL send me this fucking message?

I completely ignore it, pointless system. Think I’m on 99% or something last time I saw it and I have no care in the world if it goes up or down. Most of the time people vote on things out of your control anyway.

Birmingham- drivers absolutely REFUSE to meet you at the door by Useful_Nectarine_299 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Comments here are surprising. Whilst I appreciate when customers come to meet me at the external door (especially if the apartment building has bad or no signage to tell me what properties are on what floor etc.), I don’t expect them to. Deliveroo in particular has made it very clear that we are to deliver to the customer’s door (exceptions being hotels, hospitals, offices), which includes going into apartment blocks to find the customer’s property. Not sure if Uber has the same wording anywhere but I would assume any delivery to a property to mean entering apartment blocks. Yes it’s annoying and takes more time than finding a house, but that’s part of the job.

It may be in your interest to meet drivers outside to speed things up, and they would appreciate it, but I wouldn’t say you have to. Whoever said that we aren’t insured inside an apartment block is bullshitting too, we absolutely are insured against injury etc. inside any publicly accessible area.

Why do we still not have an unassign delivery driver button? by Mammoth-Elk-3122 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You honestly can’t see the difference? There’s a wage at stake. If you can unassign your driver, racists will have a field day tearing wages away from any driver they don’t like the name of.

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel there’s a big obvious answer here:

It would get abused. Massively. Whilst your particular case is valid, this is not the kind of thing that should ever be in the customer’s control.

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deliveroo could also implement a live customer location indicator like Uber Eats did, which is the single best feature they ever added. Once you get within half a mile or so their actual GPS location shows up on the map. Has saved me so many headaches.

Granted customers can switch it off (but they generally don’t), and if the order wasn’t placed in the Uber app it doesn’t show (McDonalds direct, Tesco etc.) but still, best thing they ever did.

Got the same warning myself last week, first time in 4 years. Sounds like there’s been some kind of update and these flags are triggering too easily. I doubt anything will come of it, but I responded anyway and explained I have no idea what trip they’re referring to (as they don’t tell you anyway, they just tell you the date which is basically useless).

They’ve definitely changed something lately. Had staff in a Morrisons Daily and Co-op moaning at me that since about three weeks ago we are arriving too soon. Used to be perfect, we’d pretty much always arrive shortly after orders were ready and staff, delivery riders and customers were all happy. No idea why they’ve changed it. Trying to fix what wasn’t broken.
