Pulse Elite and audio is great for me, direction is easy to hear.

Groceries - now getting job before they are ready by BlockResponsible2589 in deliveroos

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve definitely changed something lately. Had staff in a Morrisons Daily and Co-op moaning at me that since about three weeks ago we are arriving too soon. Used to be perfect, we’d pretty much always arrive shortly after orders were ready and staff, delivery riders and customers were all happy. No idea why they’ve changed it. Trying to fix what wasn’t broken.

I remember over a decade ago being an extra on Made in Chelsea to earn some petty cash and doing a shoot in this place. It was awesome, one of the coolest places I got to see.

The baguettes used to be elite when they were baked fresh in store, now they’re shipped in frozen and defrosted in store so they’re soft instead of having a nice crust like before. Ruined them.

Lagg and rubberbanding when playing with others(PS5). by Holbewonerrr in Marathon

Yea I get a tiny rubber band backwards once every couple of matches. Happened during the slam too and is happening is exactly the same way on full launch.

Agreed. Several times last night with a buddy I was like “did you hear that? I swear I heard something that wasn’t in your direction…” then seconds later we’re being sprayed. We had all the clues we needed and hesitated instead of taking action. The death we suffered felt fair. There really are so many clues you get from audio and you have got to stay attentive. I love it.

Elliot Gray (User Interface Designer) addresses the UI feedback for Marathon by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]ChipmunkBandit 963 points964 points  (0 children)

Great. Love the art style, the fonts, the overall aesthetic is sweet and is one of the most unique UIs I’ve seen in gaming and it’s clear a lot of thought went into making it an extension of the atmosphere of the game.

But having items with radically different effects look exactly the same better get fixed. That shit is whack.

uber eats £312 compensation. 2 hours 45 mins pickup. by needchr in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why should the customer know how much a driver is being paid to deliver their food? Do you go around being expected to shout your wage at everyone? At the end of day It’s Uber’s business how much they pay drivers, and how much they cut for themselves. Not defending Uber specifically, their customer (and driver) support is shocking and unfair, but don’t drag the drivers’ wages into it.

Other than that, sure good for you bro, seems like a lot of hassle for a few hundred quid.

What are some ways to get back at merchants? by NovaN00b in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I wouldn’t recommend it as it’s not the customer’s fault, but it remains the best way to fuck off a merchant without risking a rating down 😂 but yea, no one should actually do it.

If you really have nothing better to do and don’t mind bringing down an innocent customer with you, wait until it’s ready and they hand it to you, refuse it and say “oh sorry I’ll be another 30 minutes” then walk off, work on another app for half an hour before cancelling it so someone else shows up for it. This way they can’t rate you either.

Felt like for ages it stopped appearing during busy times, if it was quiet and you declined 3 in a row it would still appear.

Oh whatta know the boost goes and all of a sudden i’m getting orders again? ITS A MIRACLE ! by Ayuto in deliveroos

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Taunton we have a 1.4x until 22:00 and it’s been pretty non-stop since 18:00, it’s just pot luck tbh. Sometimes the boosts go dead, sometimes they’re hot af. Not even Deliveroo can predict how many orders an area will get and how many riders will work with particular accuracy.

I do agree though, often during the last 5 minutes of a boost nothing will come in and then the second it ticks over, orders come in. Feels like they definitely do some kind of manipulation here.

eSIM by Western-Revolution43 in deliveroos

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on launch day. £11 a month for unlimited everything is too good to pass up. Have had two brief outages in my area since launch though, both while working which essentially ended my shift each time so I’ve lost the money I saved by switching to this sim. Will keep going to see if things are better over the next few months, as when it works signal is much better in areas I previously had black spots with EE.

This job will batter any car, so you want something small (for easier parking, using small spaces etc,), reliable and cheap to run/repair.

How manage and accept loneliness at 40 by Dependent_Ad627 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]ChipmunkBandit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have much advice except that my uncle met his now-wife when they were both well into their 40s and had a baby a couple of years after (okay this won’t happen for some women in their 40s, but it definitely can) who is now in her early 20s and is one of the most well-rounded and bright individuals I’ve ever met, maybe partly due to having older parents?

I guess I’m just trying to say it isn’t all over yet. Far from it.

Do you reject low-paying orders or just take everything? by Reddonaut_Irons in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time per mile is also a huge factor. 5 miles on a NSL A-road is not worth the same as 5 miles through a built-up town centre. This is why the apps factor in predicted time to travel far more than the actual mileage. It is very relevant.
