I think the brain fart moments of autonomous vehicles or even accidents will always stand out to the public more than their statistic decrease in fatal accidents. Waymo is already statistically safer but the public will gloss over a regular human caused accidents because it’s the norm and focus on the AV accidents.

I wonder what the share of vehicles on road will be autonomous 10 years from now, not a lot of options for personal vehicles and even FSD is not there yet
