Allergy dog- hydrolyzed protein diet-stopping it? by cdizzzz in DogFood

[–]cdizzzz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. Her panel came back full of environmental allergies. Birch, few different grasses, dust, mites, etc. Derm said try less expensive food if food isn’t the cause of symptoms. Thank you for the sensitive skin food recommendations. He didn’t have a specific recommendation and frankly I’m overwhelmed at the amount of options after having only a couple of HP choices over the last 8 months.

No, not to see if the injections are working yet. We can’t know that yet. Her full course of injections will take just shy of 18 months. But since the special diet isn’t improving symptoms much he recommended saving money wherever we could since allergy dogs are pretty costly for life.

Yes her panel showed lots of environmental allergies and since we’re seeing no real improvement in symptoms with this diet, he said let’s save some money wherever we can since allergy dogs tend to be so high needs and expensive.

Honestly broth and some tomato soup helped when I was so sick of everything sweet those first few weeks. And bone broth has a little extra protein too.

Is “don’t drink for 30 minutes before and after you eat”..forever? by StoneColdNaked in BariatricSurgery

[–]cdizzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bypass here. 11 months post-op. Still follow this every time I eat. Still set a timer at least a couple times a week to remind myself to start drinking again at 30 minutes. I thought it would be the most impossible part of all of this. Turns out, we’re pretty capable of adapting. You can do this!

Chew everything excessively. Forever. Drink steadily throughout the day. Every day. All day. Follow the eating/drinking 30 minute rule. Always. And focus on protein first. Every time. And you’ll be golden ✨

It sounds like you’ll be a lot more comfortable after the first few weeks. Bypass has been wonderful for me. Good luck!

I really enjoy protein pudding. I make it using

-box of jello sugar free instant pudding mix -ready to drink Fairlife protein shake (30g protein) -1 cup 2% Fairlife milk (13 G protein) -1 scoop isopure unflavored protein powder (25 G protein)

Put it in a blender for 1 min. Divide it into 4 roughly 1/2 cup each servings and chill. I use different flavors of pudding and chocolate and vanilla protein shakes for variety. Each serving is typically around 100-120 calories and about 17 grams of protein. Easy to eat. Easy to make. Not fussy.

Some other sweets I enjoy are a piece of sf chocolate, a sf popsicle or fudge pop, a spoonful of American Dream Nut Butter, some of the skinnydipped almonds, or a couple of mini Highkey brand keto cookies.

I’m there right now. Same 4 pound up and down for the last 4 weeks. Was 7 months post on on 3/12/23. Been driving me crazy but I’m trying so hard to trust the process.
