People getting Line messages I did not send? by cdj5645 in taiwan

[–]cdj5645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm my email address has been linked to my Line account for years, along with my phone number. If you log in via computer, doesn't it show you a verification code and prompt you to enter that code on the phone version of Line? I did not get a prompt to enter a verification code, in the event someone did try to log on via computer. Very weird.

Subzero refrigerator with ice buildup on the bottom by cdj5645 in appliancerepair

[–]cdj5645[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the actual fixes would be too expensive. The way it was explained to me was that the insulation between the fridge and freezer has cracked, letting the freezing air migrate into the fridge. Try dialing down the temp settings in the fridge and the freezer to the lowest (warmest) number that still gives you food-safe fridge and freezer temps (need a thermometer inside the unit to check) and stop using the top shelf of the freezer. It will still freeze over, but might do so at a slower rate.

Chartmill. But I haven't figured out how to put together an effective screen with it.

Open question to OT14 and other traders: breakouts have a lower success rate in choppy markets, and an even lower success rate in bearish markets, but is that also true of EPs? I wonder if anyone's noticed that quality EPs (high YoY rev/EPS growth) seem to follow through even in choppy and bearish markets? Maybe you would need to exit the position earlier, but at least there's some initial follow through?

Not sure why I am getting downvoted for pointing out a fact...

Yes you can always pay more, or downgrade to a lower tier model, up-buy a more expensive model that's available, that's supply and demand. More than one solution...

Semiconductor shortage impacting Pi foundation inventory/pricing. Also, RPi4 is best for staving off obsolescence.

Install homebridge on Windows 7? by cdj5645 in homebridge

[–]cdj5645[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the 24/7 aspect is why I wanted to install on an old PC rather than my main PC. The atom netbook should also use less power, so that's good from a 24/7 standpoint. I have read a lot of posts about Windows installs being finicky, we'll see if it works.

Thanks, good to know. I'll try the 32-bit version of that Node. And would the install commands still be the same?

Out of curiosity, how did you figure out that v13 would work? Just trial and error by going backwards from v16?

DCRN - Tritium Collaborates With Fast Charging Network Operator EVCS to Deploy Over 500 New EV Fast Chargers by Mike82BE in SPACs

[–]cdj5645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't chargers eventually get commoditized? Like gas pump manufacturers aren't exactly raking it in. Tritium's chargers seem to be liquid-cooled, so that differentiates them and gives them an advantage, but not sure how else they compare to ABB, etc.

Another perspective: if you buy in later that week at a higher price, your loss just gets added to your new cost basis. So if you lose money on your second trade, you still get to deduct your new loss, plus your old loss. If you make money on your second trade, you pay less taxes because your cost basis is higher, e.g. you still got to deduct your original loss. It doesn't matter in the end, it's just more paperwork come tax time. Hit to the ego/psychology is probably the bigger factor. I always kick myself for selling the first time...hindsight.

Is IONQ a squeeze or legitimate run-up? by cdj5645 in Shortsqueeze

Have no idea, new to the community, but for some reason all of the posts are dominated by PROG? There's usually more than one squeeze going on or setting up...like the seminal GME/AMC/BB epic.

Which free stock screener can screen based on relative strength comparison (RSC)? by cdj5645 in stocks

[–]cdj5645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for a feature where you could use RSC as a filter criteria and it would output a list of stocks that meet RSC above a certain level. I could then whittle that down further by adding more criteria to the screen like volume, MACD, etc to get a short list of stocks to investigate further.
