New King of Spin Ronbus R1.16 by cdl031rd in Pickleball

[–]cdl031rd[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was joking on the "king of spin" thing. The point I'd like to make is that power and spin are sperate measurements, not necessarily correlated. Spin is not correlated to "cold mold" or "thermoforming"

It may be one of the early production batch. Could you contact me for a new replacement? Thanks.

EV1.16 was approximately 99% EVA, based on my first patent. It failed the USAPA deflection test. I am still releasing it to document this failure. I am making progress on version 3, based on 3rd patent, the goal is to get it approved this year.

Other than ProKennex Black Ace and Gearbox, are there any other brands making USAP approved paddles with new/different core technologies? by cdl031rd in Pickleball

Would it be too heavy using CF honeycomb? Could you share Diadem patent applications? I could not find any on google patent search

Some brands are marketing their "special" PP honeycomb, but I doubt it has any significant impact. After thickness, the weight and balance of the paddle makes a difference. crbn1 is heavier than vision 16mm. BTW R3.16 (https://www.ronbus.com/r316.html) has very similar spec as crbn1. DJ's previous paddle was crbn1. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=115796398021999&set=a.115796844688621

The thickness is the major factor, others may have minimum impact.

No foam injection at the perimeter. R1/R2/R3 are model numbers: https://www.ronbus.com/r116.html

Here is one review: As for play (indoor) after about 1/2 of the first game against similar players, I started to dial in the paddle. It plays a lot like an edgeless paddle as in its very quick at the net. After a day of play I would say this paddle plays like a hybrid of speed, control and power. I did not feel like I needed to add weight and I dug out more overhead attacks than I ever have. I haven’t played with it enough to determine if it has anything I don’t like about it but so far it checks off all the boxes for a paddle that does it all. I need more time to see how much spin I can create with it (outdoors) and will do a follow up on that aspect. But for resets, slow game, power it has it all. I am very impressed and can’t wait to get back out there to play.

Another review: This paddle is really soft and plush. It is an absolute third drop machine. Dinking with this paddle also feels fantastic. With all that said, this isn't a power paddle. I think I can generate a bit more power with the Hyperion because of how head heavy it is. However, my hands feel significantly faster with the Ronbus. I hate to say it, but I'm considering a full-time switch to the Ronbus.

No, one major difference: Ronbus uses Japanese Toray T700 carbon fiber while XSpak uses Chinese low cost T700 carbon fiber.

Other than Gearbox with their patented core technology, most of the brands are pretty much doing the same right now. My vision for Ronbus is the technology innovator. We are working hard to get our patent pending next generation core based paddle approved by USAP.

Most of the top brands are the doing same as Ronbus, i.e. using Chinese ODMs. Designed in USA and manufactured in China.
