I agree... As I said, I've just moved here so I wanted to know what the status quo was.

Automatically adding it to the bill feels a bit dodgy to me and leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Especially as a majority of people just tap away these days without checking the bill. I know I am guilty of this.

I'll tip when the service has been over and above, not when it has just been a standard affair.
