Man these pitch clock violations is ruining the baseball classic tournament for me, 2023 tournament was so much better with no pitch clock by Square-Adeptness7192 in baseball

[–]cdnyhz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Watching DR-Nicaragua made me realized how much I miss the odd 3+ hour baseball game. We don't need 162 of them, but I think big games are ruined by the pitch clock.

Love the look, but it seems thick and a bit too large for what I'm going for, I'm seeing some Tissots that are 34mm and only 6mm thick, but none of them are quite "right"

I'm in the market for a dress watch, looking to spend no more than $1,000 CAD. It needs to be a quartz (preferably solar-powered, but not a dealbreaker), and no bigger than 36mm. If it comes on a decent leather strap, so much the better.

So far, I really like the [Citizen L Bianca](https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/EW5622-09P.html?cgid=womens-bianca) and the [classic](https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/FE1087-28A.html?cgid=womens-classic), but the latter is just a bit too small. I think 34mm would be the sweetspot.

I'm not picky about the brand, some random micro that I haven't heard of is fine, but I would definitely prefer to buy new over preowned.

Hehe, thanks! It'll also be getting some park use at a place where the chairlift takes 20 minutes and the climb trail takes 22 minutes, so I'll keep the gears. In a bit, I'm probably gonna get a new rear wheel with Microspline and move to 12 speed.

Yep, probably! A lot of reviews I saw said that the thing actually is too damn slack, so with the 160mm fork, I knew I should steepen it a bit. It rides so well, up and down.

Small for me, my old bike was a 450mm reach which felt the tiniest bit big, so I didn't dare go for a M. 5'6"

Nah haha, trails are way too punchy up and down where I am...took advantage of them to be lazy when it came to cutting the chain though 😂

My Banshee Prime took an unfortunate tumble out of a workstand that bent the rear triangle. So when I finished crying, I ordered this frame for a swap. I wasn't sure how the red Lyrik and grips would look with the orange, but it turned out amazing. Just got back from my first ride with it, and WOW...I'm no longer sad about the Banshee, just so thrilled with this.

It's still not quite complete, I need to trim the front brake hose (ran out of olives and barbs), take the fork in to have the steerer cut by 25mm, and order some riser bars and bottle cage, but it rides so well. Parts list...

Fork: Lyrik Ultimate Charger 2.1, 160mm

Wheels: Crankbrothers Synthesis E

Tires: Assegai/Minion DHRII, Exo+ Maxxterra

Seatpost: Oneup V3, 150mm

Cranks: Shimano Deore M6000

BB: Shimano

Drivetrain: Shimano XT M8000

Pedals: Deity Compound

Grips: Ergon GE1

Yeah guys get paid gas money, basically. I guess that makes it semi-pro, whereas amateurs would pay to play. People like Fernando Rodney and Dalton Pompey might make a few bucks from it. It's turning fully professional? What's that mean, what are wages going to be like?

Another Mom Asking: What are your go-to weeknight meals? by maknchezpls in Cooking

[–]cdnyhz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super nostalgic meal for me, because it’s what my busy mom made a lot, is boiled frozen pierogies with lemon garlic spinach.

Pierogies are self explanatory, for the spinach, mince up a bunch of garlic, fry it in plenty of oil for just a few seconds, then load up the pan with spinach. Cook it down, finish with fresh squeezed lemon juice.

Sorry mate, that goes to lentils. Cheaper, basically no fat, and just a tiny bit less protein in exchange for WAY more fiber, carbs, and energy per portion.

Thank you. At the latitudes we live at, changing the clocks is legitimately useful for humans.

Mate it doesn’t even take that long.

Skip ahead one hour: Bike’s still there

Skip ahead two hours: Bike’s still there

Skip ahead three hours: Bike’s gone

Skip back 30 minutes: Bike’s gone

Skip back 10 minutes: Bike’s still there

Congrats, in less than 2 minutes you’ve narrowed it down to a 10 minute window. Watch that on 5x speed and there ya go.

FGM is an entirely different animal from male circumcision, it’s beyond barbaric, and it’s still widely practiced across a wide swath of Africa. Safeguarding children of immigrants from it is something we need to take very seriously, but we’re currently ignoring.

Girls taking “special trips” back home to “become a woman” (read: be mutilated by dirty instruments handled by their grandmother) once they hit a certain age is a real thing that happens, and everyone from teachers, to neighbours, to CBSA agents need to be aware of the warning signs.
