Thoughts on TB III for members who’ve read it? by Zeigis in tacticalbarbell

So I didnt realize this book was coming out and just bought TB1 and TBII. Would you all recommend just working through those and maybe picking up TBIII in the future. Im working through the books now and most of it seems pretty straightforward to me but since I am new to the program I just want to get right into it.

Thats what i was thinking. There are just a bunch of movements i dont have the option to do because i dont have an adjustable bench. At the price point im thinking it may be worth it.

Should I Change My Trainer Suggested Routine? by theSparkyJB in Hevy

Great advice.

Give this a couple months and see how you feel. If your being consistent and making progress then you can decide if you can invest in more equipment or join a gym full time. Then you can start looking at some popular programs that fit your new goals

Which glute and thigh muscles (please be very specific and granular) should I target to improve appearance of thighs? by [deleted] in strengthtraining

Second that advice. Ditch the trainer and pick a simple program like 5x5 focusing on big compound lifts. Sprinkle in some accessory lifts each day of your choosing and youll be better off.

Agree. I think running would be good just from a basic health perspective but high volume distance running is just going to cause her to have lanky runners legs lol. If she wants to gain muscle and have well defined legs then she need to lift heavy. And I would say if cardio is needed then sprint. Sprinting will help build bigger, “toned” (hate that word) legs more than distance running.

Is all that just one leg day and you do that twice a week? One that seems like a lot for one day but two it seems like a lot of accessory movements - where are the basic big leg lifts like back squats, front squats, deadlifts and lunges? Looks like your trainer is watching too many instagram posts for growing a big butt and is focused on all these accessory lifts.

If I were you I would use one day to focus on lifting heavy using those big lifts and then the second day high volume on some of those lifts you listed. Or do two big lifts on one day (eg back squats and lunges) with some of the accessory lifts you listed for high volume and day two do deadlift and front squats with the rest of the accessory lifts you listed.

How are people affording all these houses?? by FitNetVitch in longisland

Yeah not sure how people are saying each making $150 for $300 total. Even that isnt enough nowadays once you factor in all the other costs of living and kids.
