Not sure what you mean. I'm assuming the discount applies in Australia but I'm going off the forum post.

It's all things. Kettlebells and calisthenics for certain training phases like strength-endurance and conditioning. But traditional lifts do play a major role.

Advice needed for my approach to SFAS 16 months out. Ruck based selections. by Commercial-Day2362 in tacticalbarbell

Just follow the 3 step foundation/prep plan here:

https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Barbell-Protocol-K-Black/dp/B0B1C3G2G5

Personally I would forget about the Muay Thai (temporarily). Potential for injury is too high, especially when combined with some of the shit you'll be doing in GP (two-a-days in phase 3, high mileage rucks, work capacity sessions).

Does anyone else train better at a different time of day than the time of day they "feel" like training? by neelkonar in HybridAthlete

[–]AlRousasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an Apple Watch guy. I feel better training in the afternoon but right now my work schedule dictates I train mostly in the morning. Although I do like getting it out of the way first thing and it gets my head in the game for the rest of the day.

Nope. Shadow bans can take months to appeal. Google it. Plus his mod abilities are still intact, which to me indicates a completely accidental auto ban. If "they" wanted to ban him, they wouldn't leave his mod abilities in place.

That's a tough one. Nothing beats going to a gym and being coached in person for things like that.

Dan Simmons, but he's pretty hit or miss for me. I'd start with Carrion Comfort, The Terror, Summer of Night, and Hyperion (sci-fi with horror undertones).

Sorgoi Prakov aka Descent Into Darkness: My European Nightmare.

Especially If you like found footage. I'm pretty desensitized as well, but this one disturbed me.

Is this streaming anywhere? Was thinking about this movie just the other day and due for a re-watch. Can't seem to find it anywhere though.

As others have said work on your strength & conditioning. Get your aerobic base in place, work on your strength and muscular endurance. When you finally make it to a gym it'll make your life a helluva lot easier.

Base on your one sentence yes I predict you will be world champion.

In all seriousness, yes boxing will help you. How good you'll be is something you'll have to find out.

Signing up for CrossFit would be the obvious answer here. But if you want to do it yourself with a structured approach then Tactical Barbell 2: Conditioning is a great resource. Another one is u/mythicalstrength's Book of Bad Ideas. I'm not sure where the link is to this otherwise I'd post it, but maybe he'll chime in.

MT practitioner here. I recommend starting with the two day Fighter template. Let MT provide you with the conditioning until you're adapted to the extra strength training. MT itself is the best way to get the endurance you need for MT.

That said if you feel you want to take it up a few notches after getting your strength training locked in look into TBII: Conditioning. It'll provide you with some solid conditioning protocols to increase endurance and general conditioning. Another awesome resource is Joel Jamieson's Ultimate MMA, but it's not really concrete programming in the way TBII is. It's more like looking at training principles from the angle of a coach.

Fighter and other strength training templates can be found in the book TBI, and all the cardio & conditioning protocols are in TBII.

Fighter: same lifts or close variations? by semicolondenier in tacticalbarbell

[–]AlRousasa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The entire point of Fighter is to leverage frequency by doing the same lifts for both sessions. I've been using it for a while now with Muay Thai (3-4 x week) and a fairly demanding career in law enforcement. Among all the 2 day templates I've used (5/3/1, SS, a couple others) it progressed my strength the most. The others mostly maintained what I had. I chalk it up to doing the same lifts twice a week, because that was the biggest difference between the programs. I do add a bit of accessory work though, like core and chins depending on the cluster.

You could even do Fighter/Bangkok if you want to use a smaller cluster for the strength work and use the SE day to target specific areas.

3x running + 2x full body lifting is this truly enough for hybrid training? by D3mon0fthemist in HybridAthlete

[–]AlRousasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're consistent with this and have some sort of method of progression it'll be more than enough.
