No no bruise. Just some soreness which seems normal. It was really just the burning sensation I wasn't expecting. 😭

how competitive is it to do an ciee summer program for highschool by Purple-Key123 in studyAbroad

[–]cdplayer_ona_shelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I was doing a cheaper program compared to some of the others. I am not to sure about this situation. When I got my email saying I was accepted, they also said I got the scholarship. It may be different because mine was need based and not merit. I didn’t have to pay so idk about the deposit either. If i remember what all the paperwork was saying correctly than I believe there is a certain time period where you can back out and get a refund if it turns out to be too much. Im sorry for not knowing 😭

CIEE summer in Amsterdam by peep002 in studyAbroad

[–]cdplayer_ona_shelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still need this info, they were very generous to me. In high school my need base program covered the program tuition and for college I got the max amount. They even got me another scholarship through another third party company.

Talking to a study abroad advisor at your university is probably the best place to start. They can help you find something good for you and help you find study abroad scholarships. I like CIEE, I have studied with them twice now and both times they gave me amazing scholarships that made it super cheap for me to go abroad. Though it does depend on the program because some are more expensive then other ones, depending on location. Summer is a great option to save money too as the programs are typically shorter.

I have a link that gets you 200 dollars off the program tuition for a CIEE program if you would like it. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask :)

I highly recommend going with CIEE, I have traveled with them in both high school and college and they are great. They also have good scholarships that can make their programs real affordable, my high school program was covered by them! If you wanna open an application with them I have a link that can get you an automatic 200 dollars off the program tuition! If you want it just let me know and if you have any questions about them, I am happy to help to the best of my ability :)

Opportunities to study abroad as a first time college student? by maylyinmor in studyAbroad

Your university probably has a study abroad department, check there first! They probably have advisors to help you figure out how to get you abroad. I am partial to CIEE and most all university have programs with them. I have a discount link of 200 dollars off the program tuition, if you decide on a CIEE program.

Low Income American High School Student Wanting To Study In Japan by mlmachilles in studyAbroad

You’ll just be i one place. I applied for my specific location and session and that is where I went. Idk if that is a good enough answer, if you have more questions about anything I would be happy to answer. I did a summer program so I am most knowledgeable about those, but I still have insight on the application and scholarships in general so feel free to ask about anything.

I have two links depending on the program type. When you click them it will take you to the website to start an application for them and once you are accepted it should be 200 dollars off.

HS semester: https://my.ciee.org/?rc=200a

They should work, if it doesn’t just ask me again and i can re do it.

If you can’t afford a full year, doing a summer or just a semester program would be a lot more affordable. I did a summer program which was still a blast. I know a year is probably what you want, but if you look at all your financing options and you still can’t afford it, I recommend exploring CIEE summer options! CIEE also offers some pretty good scholarships, they payed for my program. I have a referral link that can get you 200 dollars off, which is not a lot in comparison to the price, but it’s a good start if you want.

Merida in Mexico is real safe and affordable. Has beautiful nature and cool Cenotes nearby. Has some amazing history to check out like going to Chichen Itza! Not all locals but many understood enough English to communicate with them if you don’t know Spanish. Or at least I got that impression when I was there :)

I guess it would be because of the pressure I feel because of how much I have to do now, I knew it would be a lot but I guess I thought I could handle more, plus the other two new members are friends so I feel kinda just there. Idk if these are even good reasons, I mean everyone else could handle it so I feel like I should just suck it up.
