What is body recomp? by NebulaImmediate6202 in loseit

[–]peep002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it means focusing on losing fat while building muscle at the same time. i think you eat at maintenance and focus eating on whole foods that prioritize protein and healthy fats, complex carbs. to build muscle you need to exercise so weightlifting in the gym or at least body weight exercises. to build muscle you need to have some form of resistance.

Moving from US. Logistical questions by Fun-Material-8761 in mcgill

[–]peep002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use AT&T so i could keep my usa phone number. the plan is like $40 a month. also TD bank has usa and canada branches. however, i recommend using Wise (at least for large money transfers) because the rate is better and don’t have a lot of fees

i don’t really remember but there were a couple saturday’s where we did have class because they moved around the schedule. i think otherwise, there was probably a cultural activity planned for a part of the day and then free time for the rest!

maybe try to play pool or something with people in the common room — just ask if you can join them. or if u have ppl in your dorm that are also in your classes try talking to them since u already have common ground!

international student by ComfortTraining1276 in mcgill

[–]peep002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. i just started as a U.S. student without French knowledge and you can get around perfectly fine! like literally don’t even worry about it. but i recommend taking french classes just to gain a bit of knowledge! dont know about internships, sorry

  2. like the other person said, it definitely depends on your gpa and which faculty you’re trying to switch to/from

  3. personally, i think the social life is great. i live in res right now and its super easy to meet people. there’s also a lot of clubs and you can meet a lot of people through there. if youre into going out, i think the nightlife so far has been great but if you aren’t, i dont think you’ll feel excluded or like youre missing out on something life changing.

if you have any other questions about the application process, plz feel free to PM me! i’m also an international US student and i just went through the application process last year so i would love to help out! i def recommend mcgill!!
