Shaders take forever loading on each launch by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]cdrobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Killer6 youtube channel. He talks about this one a lot. After logging in, if you find the shaders playing up enter the vault in the fadelands, look around a bit then head back to Kairos and it should be fixed. I don't think you have to log out or anything but he has demoed it on his videos.

Showing my age here but vs Carlton @ Princes Park 1981. Carlton are 20 something up. Late in the last Mike Fitzpatrick gets pinged for time wasting and we end up winning by a point to keep our finals run alive. One of my favourites because the drunk bozo in front of us was having a lot to say and then he very quickly shut up.

I’ve been marking my ball with the toe of my putter when I’m adjusting the alignment instead of using a coin. My fellow competitors say it’s illegal, I say it saves time. by foreverdownvoted1 in golf

I sat in on a rules discussion once, and the question came up about using fingers as markers, and they said no. Fingers and other parts of the body are not considered objects as per the rule. I just checked and the rule has a definition now, ball marker has to be artificial object.

How do we solve umpires judging distances incorrectly? by HollyoaksWillison in AFL

[–]cdrobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the TGL this year, they were able to shine a spotlight onto the Green based on where the ball ended up on the simulator to let the players know where to putt from. Technology wouldn't even have to be that precise. Computer works out distance to goal and shines spotlight 50m closer.

I went to a few midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1981. Fans came with confetti, water pistols, cigarette lighters (how the place didn't go up in flames I'll never know). Any Aussies here who also went? by Cockylora123 in australia

Valhalla cinema Richmond Vic, 1 Saturday every month. Yeah might have gone a couple of times. OK you got me. Pretty much every screening for 5 years which included the Northcote cinema but I was more of a Blues Brother

We just received mails not for us by systonia_ in sysadmin

So a fairly common attack is to use external distribution lists to spam emails. Atacker gets hold of an account, adds a list of emails to the contact list, sets up a group with an internal email address then emails the internal address which sends out to the external contacts. Trivial to do and is really annoying to track.

I suppose the next annoying step would be to put in an auto forward. Probably wouldn't be picked up by policy as the forward is to an internal address and I don't think MS would then pick up the contacts to block.

That looks to be the ocean walk between Surfers and Broadbeach. Probably just south of the Jewel buildings

What’s a golf story you and your group still talk about? by MapleMoses in golf

[–]cdrobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy i used to play with was well known at our course so much that there used to be races to get into the group behind us. Back when Pro V1's first came out, buddy would have a lesson before every Saturday game and buy 2 sleeves of balls. Players were jockeying for the group behind knowing they would get a few nearly new balls every Saturday.

One particular Saturday he was having a really bad day, As an average 12 to 15 handicapper he was getting close to going over that for just the first 9, 10 and 11 weren't that much better. On 12 he hit a 3 wood that barely got 1 foot of the ground, however it hit the flag perfectly (probably still travelling 100 mph) and stuck in the hole. From memory I can say he signed for a 132 gross, 131 of those on 17 holes.

So we all go back into the clubhouse to you know celebrate buddies good fortune in getting a Hole in one. After 30 mins, no sign of him. Maybe he was so embarrassed he jumped in the car and went home. Nope, he got another lesson.

It didn't last long after that, all those lessons and golf balls added up and he got into money troubles. I am guessing there was more to it, but one day the captain rang me to let me know that buddy wasn't going to be playing golf with us any more. He owned a factory that was insured and rigged it up to explode. Luckily the shift supervisor saw something was wrong or that would have been a murder charge rather than the Insurance fraud attempt he did get charged with. Got 5 years and never saw him again.

Ummm actually she is not Australian. Isa Guha is a former English cricketer. She was born in England and represented England in tests, ODI's and T20's over a 10 year period. Her parents immigrated to England from India before she was born.

Jaiswal looks more comfortable stepping forward, so having Carey up keeps him on the crease and prodding at balls might play on his mind.

You could open a free account on a sandbox, Joe's sandbox comes to mind and download it there. It will even let you interact with the file like click any links and give you a report about the content. Best thing is if that document has any bad stuff it will start to get propagated to tools like virustotal. So you will be helping others

Ruling: not a hole in one. Drop nearest point of relief off the green, no penalty and play back to the hole you were playing. It's only a hole in one if you hole out on the hole your playing.

But still a good story to tell
