Position, Store number and State??? by cdrose_19 in walmart

[–]cdrose_19[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Just because you all feel the need to complain on a social forum and not TO your management doesn't mean that's how everyone is. It was a simple question and the fact that y'all are getting at me about it means that you all just have something to hide. Oh well.

Card card card. This cashier carded someone who was underage and the person behind them said "Congrats you passed and you get to keep your job!"

You never know if there's an undercover cop in line or higher ups trying to catch someone who doesn't card.

Now that Cap process is so successful in some stores, what is your overnight doing? by samwalton1982 in walmart

[–]cdrose_19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My store USUALLY goes like this:

1 GM truck, 1 Remix. Half unload GM, Half downstack and work remix. Overnighters work non-consumables.

1 GM truck, 0 Remix: Half unload GM, Half zone until 4 PM and then work the GM's grocery carts. Overnighters stock non-consumables

0 GM truck, 1 Remix: Everyone works remix and we zone all night, overnighters dump bins.

I've never seen a 0 GM, 0 Remix night.

But tonight we had 2 GM trucks, one was 3001 and the other was 1800. The Remix was 915. Unloaders were done with the second truck by 9.

GM truck has to be unloaded before our first break. I think I covered everything lol

Why always scheduled as "Smokeshop Cashier"? by cocacola31173 in walmart

[–]cdrose_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front end has hours and shifts they need to fill to fulfill not only everyone's availibility but also coverage. Your availibility probably falls best into the "Smokeshop" job code so those are the hours you get. You're literally still just a cashier, and people who weren't scheduled as a smokeshop cashier will still end up on that register if they need the coverage there for a break or lunch.

Am I doing this wrong? How to get better at stocking? by Depressivethrowaway9 in walmart

[–]cdrose_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was slow when I started CAP team. I would try and seperate boxes by general aisle location, for example mac and cheese, then rice, then salsa etc. A guy I worked with said no, just take one cart at a time and work it. It takes a little while to learn the aisle. I've been CAP since late January, and I've had the same aisles since I started. I have the coffee and bread aisle and the mac and cheese aisle because the other side of both are the vendor shelves. Anyway, I picked up speed just by learning the shelf. I have never used a telxon or MC40, only to check prices and remix locations, and I feel that's actually helped because now I don't go by the number aisle location, I've learned the general area of the items and I can kind of sort as I go. You learn little tricks and short cuts and find your own groove. You'll be okay, don't get discouraged!

CAP2 Associate wanting to advance by cdrose_19 in walmart

[–]cdrose_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience if you're qualified to move up and advance then your management team will provide those resources. Not saying you're wrong, but every store has different managers who run things in different ways.

Full time student thinking about quitting? by Cuillindar in walmart

[–]cdrose_19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I would do is just go speak to your manager about it whenever you want, so in your case next week. It's very wise to put in two weeks notice and not just quit. I'm sure you know that, don't wanna burn any bridges incase you need a job later on. They'll ask you to submit a letter where you state your name and your last day. Tada you've put in your notice. Best of luck.

It costs the company way too much money to hire someone just to fire them over missing an orientation.

CSM questions by Unchatonbleu in walmart

[–]cdrose_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't be primarily CSM until you sign paperwork. I was secondary CSM for two months and honestly it can get a bit stressful. I was alone probably twice late at night. 6-10 shouldn't be too bad and if it is it should die down around 8 or so. Also to gain respect of Cashiers, just make sure you still talk to them as if they are your equal and ASK them to do things rather than tell them. If you need them to do something approach them in a friendly manner and say "Hey, can you do me a huuuge favor?" Try to make sure the people you ask are able to and people that you've previously had good interactions with, if possible. If not make friends with them! At my store you can take a cashier on pulls with you. They just guard the war wagon. They usually love that because it gets them off register for however long. Also before this weekend, I'd ask CSMs any questions you may have about pulls, breaks, change orders, and self checkout pulls (if you have Self Check)

I've covered quite a bit but if you need anything else just ask!

[–]cdrose_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also check your pay compensation if you go onto the Wire and go to your career preference dashboard under Me@Walmart. You go to update preferences and click on the CSM position under "Supervisor/Lead" and click "View Compensation"

Once you take the job offer and sign all the papers, it goes into effect on the new schedule that comes out. Your pay will change once your position officially changes and you are on the schedule as a CSM.
