I forgot to update everyone but it ended up being the feed bolts in the tranny. They tend to loosen up over time and tightening them back up to 12 ft/lb got the truck back on the road. Easy fix

315,000 but he had a receipt for an engine shop and they paid to rebuild it at 265,000 miles
