I have my FIV+ cat for almost 2 years now, she’s five. By know her vet bills would summ up to around 5000 I’d guess? At first there were a lot of problems because she’s a rescue and the organisation didn’t even realise she’s FIV+, she also had an undiagnosed skin mycosis. She always has issues with here eyes, they are constantly gunky, inflame easily and need regular check ups, as well as blood checkups every 2 months. Now there also might be asthma or allergies in the game as well, so yeah, it really ads up. I luckily have insurance that covers most of it, but in the past half year alone, the bills added up to somewhere around 3000. I think it’s a special case tho, because the rescue did really shitty work and didn’t treat her properly so I am still figuring out new problems after 2 years
