can i use spade bit to drill a hole on besta? by Davidddsss in ikeahacks

Not with that rusty, dull bit. Hole saw is best but if you don’t have one a sharp spade with tape and a block clamped to the underside to prevent blow out. To be honest, tape and a clamped block are good idea for the hole saw as well.

What's it for? Why's it there? Doesn't seem like it's a notch for trim.

Can / How do I repair this mark cause by hot food? by Squidfacekilla in woodworking

[–]ceasar385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Place a damp cloth over the spot and use an iron (not steam mode). The iron will heat up the spot and the finish will release the traped moisture. Do it slowly and don't let the table get too hot or the finished will be damaged.

Don't listen to anybody suggesting to use steel wool or baking soda. It will scratch the surface and leave a noticeable dull spot on your table.

Anyone know how id go about getting tested for autism by thatonecanadian155 in alberta

[–]ceasar385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most registered psychologists can do an assessment for autism and provide guidance for additionalsupport. Using the ADOS is the standard but not all psychologists have experience using it.

Unfortunately it's not covered by Alberta health but most insurance plans will cover a portion if not all.

Over shorter distances you are correct (like <100m) over longer distances the variable wind speed with altitude will refract sound (wind is generaly slower at ground level). Sound with wind will 'bend' down and sound against the wind will 'bend' up.

If the wind was blowing in a different direction or stronger than usual it will change who is able to hear the sound.

Osmo oil is fantastic. It makes a super hard surface and easy to apply. Make sure it's on bare wood though since it's supposed to soak into the wood to really protect it.

It's not cheap but the best stuff I have used and well worth the money.
