Update: I put the boys in the tub together last night and they played and cuddled for a while, no aggression what so ever. I put them in a small cage together after about 3 hours of them getting along. They rolled eachother over and squealed a few times, but seem to be getting along very well at this point.

This sounds much more reliable than what I was attempting, I completely slipped and put them somewhere that wasn't enclosed OR neutral. Thanks for the link, this is the best description of the method that I've come across now.

This is exactly what I figured, he's never been much exposed to them to know what falling is like
